View Full Version : Short legs - What pants?
Tank
6th January 2009, 10:59
I'm trying to find some good quality pants that come in a short leg - but am not having any luck.
They all seem to be made for long legged freaks - when the waist fits the armour is protecting my shins at best - ankles at worst :weep:
Any recommendations? (other than losing weight)

Last time I was at Motomail, they had short leg options for their Rev'It range, maybe have a look here as a start http://www.motoretail.co.nz/productlist.cfm?Group=10 ? I myself have short leg pants and they fit fine.

You could get something custom made. Try Motorcycle Safety Wear (http://www.msw.co.nz/).

Sounds like you're boasting (:msn-wink:)
I also have short legs and find it a pita that everything seems to be designed for long legged chickies (or blokes, in your case). Will happily follow this thread as it might help us girls as well.

What is your waist size mate? and inside leg measurement?

I have the same problem. I finally found a pair that offered a 'short' fitting. They fit. But I can't remember the name. I'll post it up later

Oh, in that case try some (Mobig) if you can find them, reasonable price and I believe all waist sizes come with a short leg option. I am similarly afflicted with a long body and short legs, any kind of pant buying is a nightmare for me but these fit fine.
Good luck.

No idea at all - I will measure this evening and PM you. (remembering last time I was caught in the bathroom with a tape measure for scientific research).
Do you guys do Cordura?

Surprisingly (being a short arse) the Belstaff cordura pants I bought a few years ago fit perfectly, couldn't believe my luck! However everything else I've tried have been miles too long.... that's why I got a pair of custom made leather pants from Quasi about a year ago, can't beat it, fit like a glove!

I've got a pair of bike pants that are "short leg" currently in my draggins today but later on I'll find out what my regular bike pants are and tell you the brand.
I got them from cycletreads anyway.

Hi, not normally but I have some pairs here (the leather cordura mix) you can have a pair for nicks and get them modified for bugger all effort.
I can of course make you a custom pair but thats a bit expensive, up to you though.

Instead of getting shorter pants, how about buying longer boots?

You didn't have a graph on the bathroom wall entitled "Norwegian Leather Exports" did you, Tank? :)

I used to but then I had to take it down in order to setup the webcam.

I was quite frankly amazed when I discovered that the author of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 was a woman. I mean, how do they know stuff like that?

+1 for rev-it. The wife had an asshole of a time finding pants that fit her. She's a shortass (not Kylie short but nearly) and I think they all come in a short leg option. I think they're still marginally long but nothing stupid. They're a good price too.

SPIDI do "robust" sizings designed to overcome Tank's problem (which I share).
That "robust" is a nice euphemism
In the past the importer has apparently promised to import them but has failed to deliver. Having said that, I do understand that they have to order significant numbers and they don't want to get stuck with stock that doesn't move. Parhaps they underestimate the numbers of us fat bastards... Or even those of us that are just short for our weight.

Motoline and I'm pretty sure RJays do a 'stout' range...
Failing that (keep this to yourself of course) but try some in the womens line of pants some ranges have different 'fittings' for the ladies...

Check in the biker angels forum as there was a similar post there. I can't remember the name of the pants I have but they are men's ones and they are perfect in length for a shortie like me. Very comfortable too, got them from the Suzuki (I think) shop in Hamilton, under $200. Definitely waterproof too, got tested last weekend and not a drop of water got in.
Just found the post - it was for big arses but some of us have them and short legs too! http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=84780

I have the Neo Mugello Short leg pants too, very comfy and have good padding in knees.
I am 175 cm and they fit well plus they are only about $200 brand new.
