I'm looking for a new bike and I need help choosing a good fast and reliable one.
So far i've looked at a few GSX's, ZXR's, Hornets, Ninjas and a GT205R.
I've been riding for a few years and I don't want a small 250.
Are there any other large 250s?
I really wanna get rid of my L plates lol

 by the sound of it you wont need it long. You proberly will have lost your licence. Speed is not your friend. It costs money:whistle:

If you are getting rid of your old bike and soon to loose your L plate why not go for a higher cc bike?
Good luck mate.

If money is not an issue might I suggest the new ninja. Plenty fast enough and a hell of a lot of fun. Mind you I may be slightly biased.

I got a older ninja (gpx250) and my wife rides a zzr250.
Both big enough, and they go pretty quick. Nah, they're not a superbike, but they're fast enough to get you into trouble with mr plod.
The hyobag 250 looks bigger still if you want to go down that path.
Have fun shopping, and don't buy until you've given it a decent ride!

Just get a VFR400 NC30 and put 250 stickers on it.

As you would know, any 250 that you are going to get will be slow compared to your 500, even though it is ancient. If you can sit your restricted/full just borrow a 250 for the test and bingo, done.
A "large" 250 woud be the Hyosung (GT250R) as it has the same frame size as its 650 cousin, so if you are of a larger build then this might be suitable. Either that or a cruiser style like the VTR.
Fast....... wont be fast for you as stated above, the older inline 4s eg ZXR, FZR etc are slightly quicker than the new Ninjas but does straight line speed really matter?? I have found my Ninja to be plenty quick enough and fun in the corners but then again i could be biased also :)
Budget..... how much do you want to spend?? If you can afford new, do it. Its well worth the money. Older IL4s are almost the price of new ones anyway and IMO could cost more to maintain in the long run. Oh BTW warranty is 2year unlimited kms on the Ninja and 1year on the GT250R.
Hope this is helpful from one who has only been riding a week!! :scooter:

I had a GPX - it was awesome. Easily kept up with the big boys on rides.
