Hey all, finally got around to getting my first bike! Was trying to decided between new / old and finally found a nice Kawasaki ZXR.

Awesome sunny weather for my first ride today from Auckland city (Red Baron) to the Hibiscus Coast (home). Bike goes hard and handles very nicely. Got myself a decent jacket, gloves and helmet. Will get pants and boots sometime soon.

So much fun! Some pics I took today after a ride.

Hey nice bike! I was looking at getting one of the older ZXR250 myself and watched the prices go up and up. So i spent an extra 500-1000 on the bike and got a brand new one, nothing like that brand new feeling!!

Iv only had mine for a week so i know how you feel about riding for the first time, so exhilirating!! Have fun out there this summer, i know i will be.

There are plenty of guys here that have got 250s so if you ever want to go out for a ride with someone send me a PM, always keen to go out. Will be getting out on some more rides soon. If you can or are keen, there is a 250 ride up through Northland on this Saturday, might be an idea?? I would go but i have to work :(

Oh I would be keen to go on that ride but I also got work.. :(

Went for a ride a short distance up north to Snells Beach today to meet up with another fellow Ninja rider and went for a bit of a spin. The current weather is awesome riding conditions!

Awesome bike! I saw this at Red Baron the other day. I've also got a ZXR250C, check it out, PM me if you're keen to meet up for a quick spin! :Police:

Paid $6,495. Free on road, 3000k warranty and $300 worth of free gear. The bikes done 20,000kms. I considered the extra 1k for the new Ninja, but I wanted the performance package that comes with the inline 4 model over the new toned down version.

And for the age of this its in pretty mint condition.

Re ninja 250: Its not really toned down, not near the same bike, its just a parallel twin (gpx250) named "Ninja 250" with better bodywork. How fast does it go, rych?

Even considering its in excellent condition and looks the shiz its still a hugely inflated price for a bike thats 18years old.... a good deal from the dealer with the free gear though :niceone:

Yea I understand its a completely different model, strange they called it a Ninja when its not really in the same model line. I'm not sure how fast yet in terms of top speed. 45hp compared to 27hp though, I've ridden both and its got a hell of a lot more acceleration lol.

Oh I think I saw you too! cheers

To those who think its far too much to spend for a 18 year old bike when you can pay a little more for a brand new one. I see it like this, you can buy a brand new car for around $20,000, not a very exciting one, but you could pay $15,000 or a little more for a 10-15 year old performance car. It's going to be a lot more fun and worth the difference if your a performance enthusiast. You might not just want your car/bike to get you to 100km/h, you want it to get you to 100km/h in 4sec. That's how I see it anyway.

I can easily justify the price for myself who didn't just want an a to b bike. :)

All Kawasaki's sports bikes are in their "Ninja" range.
