It's depressing that my boss is on Faceoffbook as well. I don't particularly care about his childrens first words etc, nor would I want him seeing what I do or don't get up to when I'm not at work.
But it is good to keep in touch with people all over the place. Apart from tagging in photo's thats abysmal

I may be in the right age group for the typical Bebo member (seems like I'm the only one of my group of friends who doesn't have one) but I get sick of the typical *emo stands in the corner in front of a mirror with shirt off and takes picture of self with camera phone looking mysterious* type... And facebook is just myspace for old people... I bet the mormons have both. Preying on adolescent girls and old ladies and such...

The idea of both of those sites just gives me the shits.
KB is enough interweb exposure for this gal!

I have both, though pretty much noone uses Bebo anymore, I use that to keep in touch with younger friends/rellies (who dont use FB) ...and Facebook for everyone else.
through FB I've tracked down heaps of old school friends, overseas rellies and built up friendships with ppl I've met more recently. All in all it has vastly improved my social life through better organisation and communication.
They are social networking sites, if you don't understand being social, or people networking, then either it's not for you or you need to wake up. You don't have to add anyone you don't know/like/want to talk to. you can make up lists and apply filters as to who gets to see what. Most importantly - you do NOT have to put your personal info on there if you're not comfortable doing so, just use a pseudonym, as with any other thing on the net.

The fact people can 'track you down' is what gives me the shits...
Maybe it's just a girl thing or even just a ME thing.
KB fulfills my need for social networking - other than that I have these amazing devices - telephones (one I even carry around with me!), I also have an address book and email and hell I even sometimes get in my car or jump on my bike and go places to see people. Those that don't have details to get in touch with me don't have them for a reason....
BTW - not getting at you imne1 good for you if it has been successful for you :niceone:

that's why you set your privacy levels (&/or use pseudonym) so as joe public cant see shit.
Maybe it's just a girl thing or even just a ME thing.
caution is just good sense

people change their phone numbers and email addresses all the time, just this morning i used facebook to get the details of a mate i'm trying to hook up with a job (and his flatmate).
and hell I even sometimes get in my car or jump on my bike and go places to see people. Those that don't have details to get in touch with me don't have them for a reason....
again, FB is good for organising such social interactions, like getting a bunch of friends to meet for drinks or go see a band etc.
and yah security settings - ppl you dont add cant see your details

I have to deal with 'people' all day everyday. That's one of the many reasons I ride. It's just me in that helmet.
If I want to catch up with ppl, I can phone, text, e-mail, visit in person, send snail-mail, skype etc etc.
As far as catching up with old friends - I'm over living in the past. I've got a few old friends that only want to talk about what happened 10 years ago. Can't be bothered with it.

It's way too easy for the great unwashed to search up information on individuals via the internet without inviting stalkers by using those sites!
A prefer to protect what little privacy remains nowadays.
