Not alot of use, but if any sidecar teams injure a swinger (and they undoubtably will) during the North Island Nationals or Paeroa, I've got seventy kg of quick moving mass available.

Wont cost a cent.

Kickaha and Dave have my phone number if required, never further than 6 hours away.

I understand that there is a swinger shortage this season.
I heard yesterday that Pete the Pom needs a passenger, His sidecar is #111.
Im fairly monogomous as a passenger so wont be offering my services, but im sure if you put yourself out there you will certainly get a ride.

what recomended weight range do all the swingers try to be in? just curious.

sidecar bob
9th January 2009, 22:08
For a long bike i would say 50 to 70 kg, for a short bike 70 to 90kg, although ther are a few that fall well outside those guidelines with reasonable results.

Pigster was at least 120kg + and the Macefield clowns were a quick crew for what they were riding

AT LEAST 120 kg. The pigster outfit was weighed at Puke last year & it was over 500kg (thats heavy folks) ready to race with two wee lads on it.
The figures i mentioned are what i believe to be near enough to spot on.
I am 87kg naked & feel just only heavy enough to do my job properly yet not too heavy to dampen accaleration too much.
Of course the less competitive a team is the less it matters.

I'd say 50kg is still way to light for a long bike, I'd be picking a narrower window 65-70kg

Mostly I think it depends on the style of riding and just how competetive the team is

What's funny, pretty boy, is if I do get a chance to swing, I'll be aiming at going as quick as your lap times.

Imagine a trike, two up, going faster than your Superbike :)

Steve, I'm all blinged out but thank you for posting the link, I'd forgotten it even existed. Sitting here with a big shit eating grin on my face remembering the awesome times with Warwick, Jo and the Macefields staying come Nationals time, paying each other out 24/7.

When's the next event and where do I sign.

Ps. That wasn't a race and please I thought all was legal :innocent:

It looks, despite my 70kg of humungus power, his sheer momentum is still trying to lift the drive wheel.......

That's "girth" for ya folks :)
