Aiming to leave by 10am (if earlier, cool)
Up to Lake Tekapo (GPS Software says 201km, 2h15m)
Tekapo>Fairlie>Geraldine
Arundel Raikaia Gorge Rd? to Methven (small use of Thompsons Track? south of Methven, then 77)
Straight north on 77, cut out the bit where it goes east (use Mt Hutt Station Rd), 77 again to Darfield

all this is an attempt to avoid what looks like incredibly boring straights going into CHCH, but from Darfield straight east to the address (whatever the GPS has in mind)

Depending on how timing goes, gijoe hasn't ridden akaroa, so if its possible, we'll do that too. Main section to CHCH is only 460 odd km.

akaroa is great (we used to live over there so we have hook ups) but be careful... :( bad news there lately. Gremlin did u know theres only a double bed in sleepout? Told dad ur gay so all goood....hehehehe nah he said he do blow up bed for u all....but I said ud be to tired to give a f. Theres heaps of room.....kids alll left. Sleepout was mine. Now deal is no stories ffs ok!

Having lived in Auckland and fraternised with the KB Auckland people and now having moved to the South Island I can testify that in the main South Island KBers log on much less often and tend to ride a lot more. As such you need to announce things a long way in advance.

Been busy riding (duh :innocent:) but Steve and Mary were excellent hosts, lots of stories too.

The scary part is that it was only yesterday morning that were we riding with Steve around Christchurch... seems like so much longer ago :blink:

On Sunday morning he took us through Summit Rd, around through Akaroa, the Lyttleton tunnel, and a quick drink at the Wheatsheaf. We only left them around 4pm (after having had a brilliant dinner, breakfast AND late lunch).

Fantastic, couldn't have had a better time in Christchurch. :woohoo:

On a sour note, besides the ones at the house, you lot aren't very friendly. About half the bikes on Sunday waved at us as we passed. I think I should have a little cry, and start a thread about this :crybaby:

It's simple really, let me break it down... :whistle:

A small percentage of them only have one arm, this of course goes with the one eyed ones down this way as well, regualars they all are too. :nya:

A not so small percentage actually saw Steve first and hell you've seen him so I know you'd understand and be thinking the same...... If they waved, he'd rip their arms off so alas they kept em in... :bye:

A greater percentage saw GIJOE and took one look at the camo suit, struck by it firstly / then some I'm sure felt a little ill, here they are left wondering (wtf) what the hell is this coming towards me?

Arrr the greatest percentage I feel didn't wave cause they were stunned (like a possum in head lights) by the rapid approaching swiss army knife bike ( an Austrian machine trying to be a lot of things) Or perhaps the traveling IT bus with all it's flashie wee gadgets, toys and flash screens out of Auckland, (hell we don't see stuff that modern like that down our way all to often) Did ya stop and show em the flash toys? No see so they were sulking!
Me I actually reckon it was the EMF given off by the mini power station running all them electron sucking thingies, anything that got remotely close to that mini nuke reactor was just instantly sent into electonic spas isms. So alas few waved whilst they were dealing with a mini crisis on their hands, the EMF from your sub station affected all their electron sipping devices, hell you should be saying sorry to em for scaring the locals and natives a little. :rofl:

you guys were just turning on to SHW 7 when we went past & there were only 3 of us in that group from the night b4 & that is a prick of a corner where the cages just pull out onya
