Looking for people to ride with in Otago

Hi all, im a new member to kiwibiker and have just got myself a kawasaki zx9r and am looking for people to ride with as i know bugger all people with bikes, is there any events/ clubs /groups of people that want another tager alonger

Plenty of choice, otago mc club, Bronzotago, this site dunedin rides thread and thursday nite social rides, keep looking online sure you will find something.
Then theres the rallys to go to as well.
Just returned from Invercargrill and the superbike/ nationals and a good ride there n back

Well TOPPO1 had his ZX9R for 5 days befor shitting his pants and locking up the back brake and trowing it off a bank down the bay road. Now his bike is toast alltough he managed to walk away with out a mark on him self petty about the bike aye mark :clap:

Sorry to hear that, but glad he's OK. That bay road has claimed its fair share of vehicles.

Did you get it from SPV? I was talking to Daniel and he said someone just got a bike and had gone for a wee swim down the bay road (had just finished telling him I got back from a ride down there)

Gutted to hear about it though, glad you'll be up and running again soon:niceone: Mine fell over 2 days after I got mine aye, all sweet tho, just sucks having it happen so soon:blank:

but its in at SPV, they are doing the insurance job on it, just waiting for a new headlight to arrive then ill have it back, cant wait to get back on it<_<

yea but toppo's a idiot and hes got a huge head. Its amazing he can walk without falling over hes so top heavy. Last time he changed a wheel on a car it came off and passed him on staurt street:nono:

Wanted to go for a blat tonight cos I'm bored but bike is not long back from getting some maintainance done at the workshop so not very sure about the tyres. Haven't had a chance to "clean" them on the road yet.

Last thing I want to do is go down when I only just got it back.

I don't want to sound too much like a safety nazi but I did the Right Right Otago course last week and it was really worth the time.

I've been riding since 1975 and even did a few seasons of production racing but had a bit of a gap between about 1989 and 2006 and was horribly rusty. These guys gave some great advice and even opened my eyes to some stuff I had never thought about. I'm now riding far better than I was and, with practice, might even start to ride better than I did in the '80s.

My advice: If you really want to avoid another swim, check them out.

yea i was planning on doing one of their courses before i had my wee accident, definataley going to do one as ive heard nothing but good things about them.

I did a ride right course a bit over a year ago and I will do another as soon as I get a new bike as well as a refresher
