We have just completed fitting a grease nipple into the steering head of my son tims yz 250... WOW what a difference..... easy to do ,and cheap, cost about $20 for a thread tap, grease nipple, and tube of grease, but be warned it takes a shit load of grease to fill up the steering head almost a whole tube:niceone:

Someone fitted one to my CR. But I thought that it wouldn't be much good anyway?? Someone on here said that it would put pressure on the seal in the opposite direction which is bad????????

Stink ..oh well lets see what happens.. if it doesnt work hey we just replace them..im sure all the bearing manufacturers will say its not a good thing .. but hey they have to sell bearings to make a living

thanx for that crazyxr250rider .. the new grease seals seem to be working fine, just takes a couple of pumps of grease each time we wash the bike seems ok so far, if bike was left for a couple of days steering would feel a bit stiff ... it feels normal now

Very good idea - Im about to do my bearings and i have a tap and heaps of nipples.Id rather see grease coming out of the seals than have water going in to the bearings in the housing/head.The seals arent anything special -just ordinary rubber seals - grease can only help to keep shit out and lubricate the bearings. Cheers laseracer!
