Eclipse Number Plate Blackout Frame

Designed and intended for show bikes and display purposes only. The Eclipse License Plate Frame has a clear glass panel that goes dark with the flip of a dash or fairing, mounted switch. A red LED light indicates when The Eclipse is dark, so you wont accidently ride off with the license plate obscured. 12v powered - includes wiring, fuse, switch, LED, controller and instructions.

A little bit of a more advanced solution than home-made brackets that swing up when you pull a cord. :P But I think if you got pulled over, a cop might ... accidentally knock it?

p.s. $346AUD from Aus Motorcycle Components (http://www.amcmotorcycles.com.au/)

It needs to go instantly black the minute it gets within range of a speed camera or maybe a radar. I reckon my money's better spent on a radar detector. :yeah:

I have great doubts that it's street-legal. The site it's off says The Eclipse is not legal for street or public road use., which is always a bad sign. :(

You could potentially rig it up to a radar detector's alarm output, so when it went off, it set the plate to black out untill you reset it with a switch. Simple logic ICs. Hehehe...
