And you get this if you buy a new suzuki? What about if you already have one (or don't :bleh:)?
This may also be just for cars?

It looks pretty easy.

Not just for cars. Fill in the online form, download and send off the paper form.

Start saving. Sweet.

I've been offered the same card via my membership of the PSA (no off-topic comments please). I thought about it pretty seriously, but decided against it because of the "only" $2 per month fee. Stuff I don't want, a fuel discount that I can usually get anyway with a supermarket voucher for "only" $24 per year. No thanks.

It's not a bad offer, but I've received nothing but 'below-average' service frmo the caltex's around my way, and there aren't many challenges.

Plus, Lucy likes drinking V-Power!

I wonder if I could get a Shell equivelent?

Dunno if it's worth the bother for 90c each fill.

I wonder if you can swipe it for cars and friends as well, and whether it can be used in conjunction with the 4c per litre discount supermarket vouchers.

Its a fuel card - you can swipe it for anything as long as you are happy to pay the bill.

Or you can get one via RD1 for BP - also saving 5c pl.

It's a marketing ploy to get high-quality contact details and track vehicle usage habits.

Fuck that shit.

I don't see how it's worth a six month subscription to a tabloid that's only good for wrapping fish and chips and a few dollars a month of gas savings.

My privacy is way more valuable to me than that.

1c a litre more than using a supermarket docket.

A whole saving of 26cents on a tank of gas. :wari:

So is it in addition to the supermarket discount.

- Caltex/Challenge offer 5 cents off the pump price
- Mobil offer 5 cents off their Auckland based fuel price (whatever that means but I assume if you're up the Coromandel in Summer where the fuel is dearer than Aucks then you get effectively more than 5 cents off.
- BP offer 5 cents off the average of the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch price.
- Shell offer a small discunt as the price you pay is unrelated to the pump price.

Rural and obscure fuel stops sound like they may save more except for Shell which only a blind man can follow.

What would be interesting is to do a ring around of the big four now and see what the actual price is.

Bugger it, I'll ring, premuium only.

Caltex - got put through to a person in the Philipines by the sounds of it. I asked for the price of premium at the pump in Auckland and she could only give me the natioanl retail price. She then quoted me the price for diesel without GST. I asked again for premium and she quoted the without GST price of 1.2701. I then asked for GST inclusive and got $1.4289.

At the pump across the road it's $1.379 so I'd pay with the card $1.329.

Mobil - apparently it's not based on the Auckland price but the average zone price. They have zones throughout NZ. For the Aucks zone it's $1.39 for premium in this zone so I'd be paying $1.34.

BP - $1.389 so this means I'd be paying $1.339

Shell - Back in the Philipines again, Manilla this time. The national price is $1.379 but they cannot tell me the fuelcard rate because it varies from customer to customer and I have to have an account first. Spoke to RD1 and the price today is $1.359 and it's usually 2 cents less.

So there we have it.

$1.329 - Caltex

$1.34 - Mobil

$1.339 - BP

$1.359 - Shell

The RD1 cards have no monthly charge as long as you have an account.

wooooooooooooooooooo big brother is watching you......very scary

It's not the watching that bothers me. It's the endless invasive attempts to sell me shit that would follow on from it.

Just to bee a greenie too - all Suzuki Motorbikes are Biofule compatible, whereas only certain models of other makes are.

40 litres a month just to break even (would just about cover my commuting) but locked in to Caltex. Hardly what I'd call a deal.

That half price carwash almost had me though
