I note they use the words 'Come and see the boys racing' in these ads. That's a bit sexist, isn't it? After all we do have some girls doing the nats, eh Eddy....

it's been their slogan 3 years running as far as i can remember... "come see the boys race fast" its bugged me for about the same amount of time... sexist MNZ i say! almost as bad as Wanganui scruiteneer's shocked face when he said "you pilot a motorbike?"... no i'm racing the damn thing tomorrow!

you see the bit that technically lets them of the hook is .. 'fast'. I wouldn't argue you or Eddie are girls or that you do infact race. Unfortunately fast wouldn't stand up in a court of law...

Yeah, saw it on Thursday night before the Teretonga round!
Don't think any people from Taupo would have ventured down after watching the ad. Waste of money fishing where the fish aren't.
Should have consolidated all their ads on the South Island networks.
Oh well, I aint racing this year, so won't miss the prizemoney anyway.....:rofl:

I'd rather get a mince pie.......
Actually, that's why Kickaha and Divvo are so overweight... they keep winning the King of Ruapooona races, so are given pies as their reward......

Those fat, pie eating homos......

(Now, back to surfing again......)

Just goes to show you can't please everyone, or in NZ maybe, anyone.
I wonder (hope) Rif and Nick are being at least a bit tongue in cheek, but I for one think that the adverts are pretty bloody good.

Please phone a production house and TVNZ and ask what it would cost for that package. Not cheap. Not all the money in China either, but not cheap.

The footage they use is good, shows heaps of bikes (perhaps though a case for misrepresentation cf this years grid??) and knees on the ground etc etc, Come see the boys etc is a fair slogan. OK, no metion of girls but get over it. Girls racing have plenty of marketing space if they want to use it, ie story on Elise in BRM. Anyone see a story about a young boy racer that big? Good on her!

Nationwide advertising allows locals to find out when the race near them is on in advance, not the day before to then find out they can't make it. And who knows, maybe someone from Taupo did fly down on the strength of the advert. Not ours or anyone elses place to say they did not.

Congrats to MNZ and Motorsport Network (argh that was a bit tough) for these ones.
