Ive been on a waiting list for an operation (umbilical hernia) for a while now.Yesterday, while at work I got really sick and realised that my Projectile Display was actually digusting some people out. (VERY embarrasing!) So Nasty came and picked me up and took me to the hosptial where I ahd to have an "emergency operation" for an incarcerated sp? hernia. Sounds waaaay more glamorous/gross than it was! What a weird experience though....

I was at the hospital by 4pm, operated on and back in the ward by 10pm and discharged by 10.30am this morn. Stoked I was! :niceone:

Great staff! I have a largeish tattoo over my stomach where my hernia was, I got this when I was 16 and it wasnt *professionally* done or anything so its uneven and ugly. So I told the doc not too worry about it when cutting me open but he insisted. When I had the wound redressed this morning, I could see that he has patched it up perfectly (dissolving stitches) and he made one insition where my tat was crooked and fixed it up a bit. And I thought he was awesome just cause of the drugs he prescribed me :niceone:

Im pissed off though....

Cant get on a race track for 6 weeks. I missed the last track day and I will have to miss this one, bums! However I convinced him that I could still ride my new to me bike (which I was gonna ride home from manfeild) to work next week onwards.

Oh yeah, Im not allowed to lift anything heavier than a 6 pack of beers for 6 weeks AND not go back to work till Tues. Life can be hard, eh?!

BTW - Thanks for everything Nasty and Moo!

Sorry about not being able to help with Trudes getting you to the hospital. Why did you not just get an ambulance?

Yep, we'll still be there.

Was all good, I got it sorted. I wasnt *that* bad to have needed an ambulance, hell I had gone to the gym only 1 hour earlier! Definately didnt think that I was going to need an urgent operation! My GP had just told me to get to the hospital sometime, no urgency at all at the time.

I was told that I couldn't lift anything heavier than a woman's hand bag. From what I've seen some chicks carrying around I took that to mean at least a two dozen slab.
