just wondering,
my rear shock on 94 vfr stock item whilst riding 2up seems to sag alot(yes i realise riding 2up this will be more notsible than one) what would th elife of one of these bit's be? do i replace? factory? aftermarket? or can these just be serviced it feels allright wile solo riding but with the extra weight 2up just seems to sag more than id like

ps telling da mrs to loose weight well we all know where that end up although id be able to gowith a solo seat option lol

It's probably more than just the spring (and yes, if the bikes done some miles and at 15 years old the spring would most likely be tired) the shock is quite likely in need of a service as it's probably lost much of the nitrogen in it.
Then there's the fact that was the spring the correct rate to start with?
Best to talk to someone that specialises in suspension like Robert Taylor who can provide you with the full picture and your available options.
You'll never regret spending money on suspension and getting it properly dialled into you, your bike and your riding style.

Apparently, Gebbe Bruin in D'Auckland can service these, but if the back end's saggy, it needs a new spring as well, so a replacement shock would be a better option. Have you tried cranking up the preload?

I have a spare 2001 VFR shock - I don't think it'll fit your bike, but I'll find out for sure. Otherwise, you're looking at around $1200 or more for a replacement.

cheres yeah viffer man if ya could we could work something out probally difrent though and the pre load maxed out to hold my fat arse already lol it's not terioble i just know it could be better or mabie im just being a gurly gurl wen i comes to 2up it has been a while :laugh:
yes these items dont seem chep at all
