Hey
I'm Suney, I'm 20 years old and I live in Auckland for university.
Never ridden a bike before and just got my learners last weekend and bought a zxr250. Ridden allover Auckland for the past week and have had no trouble with cars not seeing me. It's really fun and at the moment prefer it more than a car!
I have a couple biker friends but am keen to meet some more fellow kb'ers!

Also is it common protocol for bike riders who are travelling past each to give a nod to eachother to acknowledge one another or something? Because a few guys have nodded at me just yesterday and I was thinking :apint:

Some more pics at: 400kb per pic though! So no 56kers :p

Welcome.... A nod is good, a wave is also good. We draw the line at hugging especially if heading different directions at speed. :yeah:
Nice Bike BTW :niceone:

Nice looking 250 you got there. A wave is the most visible, but a good nod is fine. Normally you wave to everything on two wheels that you pass. Note, not everyone waves back, but this has been discussed ad nauseam.

Lots of great people in Auckland to meet up with, keep and eye on the meetings section.
Have fun, ride safe.
Dave.

Aaaa.....shiney, I remember when mine was all nice and straight......memories ....time to bring out the fibreglass because I've lost to much plastic.
I like the silver decals on the lower fairing, mind if I copy it?

I'm not one to speed, haven't topped it out yet. 110 is probably the fastest on the motorway even though I'm on my learners :o

Sure you can copy it! I thought this was a factory colour scheme!

150 out on the open road so far. Incredibly stupid, don't reccomend doing that. 165 at the last track day, do reccomend that :niceone:

Also I had taken the fairings off as I was paranoid about hurting them on the track, so that slowed me down, and the helmet strap was suffocating me. Went to 150 easily with the fairing. Will be going faster at the track next time

Welcome aboard!!!

Nice bike you have there! Enjoy it, enjoy the weather in and around Auckland too.

A couple of things that haven't been pointed out (that I could see anyway) - be aware you are allowed to use bus lanes in the city (not on motorways, but in the city is fine)...

Also take your time on the bike for the first little while. They're easy to fall off and it hurts.

Of course they're also a hell of a lot of fun - which is why we are all here I guess!
