If you want to ride like a fuckwit and pass on the inside as you did on 20 Feb approx time 4.05 on the Chch tunnel road then you are not going to survive very long. As for riding at speed in a t shirt that just signals to all and sundry there is not a lot up top.

If any one knows this dick pass this on.

What is it about a certain brand of bike which encourages the owners to wear tshirts and shorts when they ride???? And of course bare hands.
Surely if you can afford a bike like that a few hundred extra bucks for a jacket and pants isn't going to kill you?
Is it the whole midlife crisis thing again?????

Don't worry about it, he won't survive for long. The only reason he could survie this long is that the bike* spents most of it's time sitting in the garge.

*Is it ok to classify it as a bike or would it be better described as an ornament?

Mate... its not a certian brand at all, its the weather..... so far today I have seen a GSX750ese, GSXR? the odd HD all fly past my pad on State h/w1 in a 60k zone which turns to 100 200m up the rd in shorts t shirt and no gloves...... but the one that takes the cake was a looser on a IT something big doing at least 100k past home with no lid on, the noise and smoke made me look up....... thought I was going mad... mader but 10min later he went back the other way......... two up, neither with lids and the pilion had no foot pegs. :brick:

ps: forgot to mention the 3 Gold wings with t shirt and gloveless. :whocares:

The other day I passed a rider another rider in the same lane (I passed on the right) Did I commit a breach of etiquette (or even a law?)

Thanks. Point noted. :apint:

To be honest.... I may not have been indicating. It was the left lane and I wouldn't want to confuse anyone in the right lane.

If there are two lanes no problem passing left. In single lane its a no no. On the occasion in question there were two riders in tandem. At the time I spotted a guy behind on a sports bike and was about to swerve to the left so he had some room to pass as I was close to the centre line, (single lane) next minite this buffoon on a harley comes through on the inside of me. That's the first I saw him. Another second or so and I could have swerved into him. I was not changing lanes just being courtious so that the sports rider could get through.
Big blue Harley no idea of the model. Did not get a good look except for the number plate

Agree re etiquette

Law says you do no need to indicate that you are passing if you do not leave your lane, as you are not tecnhically "overtaking".

I do pass within the lane, both inside and outside or left/right. Going up the inside/left I ONLY do to someone I know, who I know is prepared for it or at least wont freak out. I will pass on the right IF I have been watching the person for a few minutes and I'm confident that I can get past safely and they wont do anything out of the ordinary. Maybe thats bad, and I definitely wouldnt recommend doing it, but it happens. If there is room, always go to the other lane......

Dont forget the goldwingers behind us coming into Kumeu....

Perhaps we could have led them up towards Hoteo, and passed THEM in dangerous places.... That could have been fun (tho maybe not for them so much..... flicking gravel kinda hurts....)

My current bike is the first in many years.... the number of people who commented on "mid-life crisis" started to wear a bit thin!
