Normally, choosing between your job and your family is a no brainer but in this case, if its important to you to be present for your Daughter's vaccinations..... can't you get them postponed?

Geez calm down already.
I've been to Motomart numerous times to buy things including a bike, and never been served, except for the one time I bought some grips for $16. Does tend to make one's mind up, particularly when Motomart sold the bike I wanted to buy to Bay City Motorcycles in Tauranga. BAy City sold it to me and then shipped it back to Motomart, where the sales guy had the temerity to ask me why I didn't buy it from them in the first place.
There is nothing that Motomart could do to convince me to shop there, and I guess after saying that, I'm banned anyway. And after that reaction I wouldn't bother even trying to let you redeem yourself.

Least he get crucified alone, I should (re)state that I have had similar experiences at Motormart to those experienced by Jim2.
I also acknowledge that there are many happy Ducati owners in this city who must have cornered a "salesperson" at Motormart at some stage to conclude a purchase -- unless they did what I have thought about from time to time, which is wheel a bike out the front door and see if anybody says anything...
Don't take this the wrong way Sparky, but have you had any formal sales training, such as a diploma or certificate course?

Do partsmen "sell" parts and accessories? I am fascinated that you make a distinction. I am also curious that you don't "sell" bikes. I know that you're probably not registered under the Act/regulations, but that is only for the purposes of completing the paperwork.

I talk to people about bikes, but would never start the paper work for them.
I have enough trouble with my own job apparently.
I do like hearing feed back, but whens its the same comment over and over, it just doesnt help.
And no its not different people saying them. Always the same.

Now you're being overly sensitive. My comments have always been aimed at Motomart, never at you.
As an aside, I strongly suggest you ask your boss to get you enrolled on a sales/selling course. Kiwihost is a good first step. Other worthwhile options are the Dale Carnegie programme and the SMEI diploma (www.smei.org.nz for details). If he protests about the cost on the basis that "Well why should I invest in case you leave?" ask him "Would you prefer it that you didn't invest in my training and I stayed?"

Sparky and the other "partsman" have always been very helpful when I've been there or rung up to get stuff ordered. And I ring/visit A LOT.
I've never seen either of them ignore someone in the shop.
You guys (j2/Hitcher) have both had bad experiences with the sales guys there. So fine, don't buy a bike there. But giving Sparky a hard time when you had the beef with someone else just isn't cricket.

Ba ha ha, when I rang up to see if it'll be ready today Phil asked Wayne how my bike was. Wayne just said "Dirty" Jeez, it's fairly clean for me.
I might have to pick it up on Saturday, got some surgery tomorrow so not allowed to drive/ride 24 hours after they knock me out. Might even pay my account, on second thoughts I might leave my account and see how long it takes until I get a phone call from Pat :shake:

I try to look at the bright side to all my jobs (and sometimes its hard), the easiest bright side is "Its paying the bills, and keeping me alive".
Im getting annoyed to do everyones shitty jobs, i have never been unemployed for more than 5 months since the age of about 11.
So please, before everyone banters on about how they hate theyre $20,000pa job (my highest taxable pay for a year ever has been $19,000) - think of the poor sods that slave below you for pennies.
:2thumbsup as for places ive worked:Mulching Mt Mauganui dump, Decommisioning Coeur Gold mine, Serving :angry2: at M10, Cleaning up/keeping the fridge stocked at a scummy bar (ever seen everone cellebrate new years from the inside of the fridge), working in sewers, toilet cleaner, crane dogman, packhouse worker, kiwifruit picker, tomato picker, avocado picker, fencer, Pipejacker (working on a shovel 14hrs/day 7 days a week), welder........
All while i did my studies, finish end of this year - YAY
i dont hate all these jobs, i just dislike parts of them.
So please, allways remember, u have a better job then someone out there - its what i like to believe. The world isnt all compose of slackers.
