I have started uploading some pics, hopefuly the link takes you to the right place... a few hundred more to go, but i'm done for the night. Will hopefully get the rest online tomorrow.
If you want to purchase any full resolution pics, I can send them to you on a CD.
$15 for the first pic, then $2 per extra pic after that.
PM if interested or email: jasep@hotmail.co.uk
Cheers

I was there. My partner took a heap of photos, not to the same quality as JP's professional ones but if you let me know what bike you were riding I can have a look and see if there's any of you that you can have.
It was a good day there, it was a shame about the hair pin but much better once everyone was taking the same line round the cones. Had an interesting moment following someone through the kink when their knee slider blew off and whistled past my head at 220kph+!

I couldn't find any that really match your description, these seem to be the only ones I have of 10's in the fast group and none are wearing #50 unfortunately.
If you want full res copies PM your email address and I can flick them thru.

what was wrong with the hairpin guys ?!?!?
it was re-sealed last week and cars let back on it too soon and the surface has disintegrated

As a result, it was very rough and the exit of the corner was strewn with little bits of ashphalt. Hot tyres are very effective at picking these up and flinging them at the poor bugger behind you. There was a reasonably clear line around the outside of the corner, but it was nowhere near where you would normally ride.

is there no line that you can take clean? or is it munted on the race line
WRT
28th January 2009, 13:18
See my previous post - "race line" is munted, but there is a clear way if you follow the outside of the corner round.

the WHOLE corner is munted, clear line is about the last metre right around the outside, but the exit is still stuffed due to the dabrie

oh fu*k that!!! ...... was there warning from steve?
WRT
28th January 2009, 13:26
Yes, there was a warning during the rider's briefing, and he also put a set of cones out to make sure that everyone knew where to ride.

I was there on ma 250 had an awsome day. Only problem was getting eaten up on the straights by everyone. and like everyone says, the hairpin was nuts. that ktm was interesting too.

Was my first track day on the R1 and I really enjoyed it apart from my tyre going down on the front straight. Very keen now to do more...
Has anyone else had a tyre go flat because of "no valve cap" mechanics at work tell me thats crap, but I spoke to steve from triple x on the day and he said that would do it, and i am tending to believe him seeing as he does do a lot of racing. Cheers to all who were there, was a god vibe.

not as loud as that yellow vmax in the slow group - that thing hurt my brain.
i took my kids (3 and nearly 5) for their first time at the track.
looks like we'll be doing it again - they loved it.

268, during the second session. Couldn't top that in the later in the day (despite moving my braking point and higher entry speed onto the straight), possibly due to hotter temps?
ArcherWC
30th January 2009, 08:48
300 + WTF are you doing looking at the speedo anyway
WRT
30th January 2009, 09:37
It adds to the excitement when you are glancing between the speedo, other traffic, and your braking marker!
Nah, seriously tho I check the dash for the max speed at the end of each session.

I did, but only because I had soo much time down there, was on the limiter, which is an indicated 190.

Only looked when i had a clear run!!!! otherwise 280 was the norm. Plenty of room for braking! It was different having a few of the bikes with no brake lights at all so u really had to look 2 c when they braked
