View Full Version : Did the world end on 9th Jan 2009? Or not

Ixion
29th January 2009, 22:22
In another thread , it was noted that the world (indeed , the universe) was due to end on 9th January this year.

Unfortunately, no-one so far can remember definitively if it did or not. Everyone was variously otherwise preoccupied and failed to take note at the time

It seems a matter which should be resolved definatively, one way or the other .

So, by mutual consensus of the great and Godly, a poll was called for. Here it is. The end of the world is a matter of some considerable importance, so only serious replies, of intellectual merit, please.

The world may have appeared to end on January 9th, but this thread http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=91355 proves that it won't happen till 2012.

Yes it did,but we didn't notice it as they initiated Universe Model Version 2.0
when they deleted Version 1.0
We're part of 2.0,complete with false histories

That'll be a few years off then, will probably get tied into some sort of land claim and lost in the mix until everyone forgets the idea as the council rolls all of its staff.

Maybe god is using a Julian calendar?

Wow... I've heard of people being supplier to the Queen, but Julian... is ... supplier... to... God? (D'ya think he might want a KB calendar next year?)

It really did - we just didn't notice cos we were all transported to an alternative universe by way of a huge holodeck, just like in the Star Trek movie.

I usually can't tell what day of the week it is, and many days seem like a waking nightmare, so it could have ended, but how would I tell? :confused:
Either way, it's pretty much just same ole same ole...

It may or may not have ended. Afterall, we may just be figments of our own imaginations.

Obviously the "Julian" being referred to, is Julian Clary.

I have been to Lake Ferry.
I now know where the restaurant at the end of the universe is located and have dined there.
It therefore follows that it's all over.

Where's the Buddist option that it's all an illusion. On this basis the poll does not exist hence my not voting.:clap::clap:

Soooo if the world ended, and we are all dead. My heaven consists of surfing kb and working seven days a week. I feel shafted, where is the naked women and flowing rivers of alocoholic nectar and epic air guitar competitions and the endless windy road that is perfectly paved. All I get in heaven is shit tar seal that is bumpy and breaking. :laugh:

Our favourite place is opposite the motel on the main street -- next to an "arcade" and art gallery. Good bike parking out the front and the superloo is just over the road and up a bit.

At the end of the last day, dude, I'd say we can take a liberty or two.

Who are you quoting?

Possibly Cecil Armstrong Gibbs.

Although I believe some dude named Anon has a stronger claim.

More:

The moon's my constant mistress,
And the lovely owl's my marrow;
The flaming drake,
And the night-crow make
Me music to my sorrow.

I know more than Apollo;
For oft when he lies sleeping
I behold the stars
At mortal wars,
And the rounded welkin weeping.

The moon embraces her shepherd,
And the Queen of Love her warrior;
While the first does horn
The stars of the morn,
And the next the heav'nly farrier.

With a heart of furious fancies
Whereof I am commander:
With a burning spear,
And a horse of air,
To the wilderness I wander;

With a knight of ghosts and shadows,
I summoned am to Tourney:
Ten leagues beyond
The wide world's end
Methinks it is no journey.
