Who: Aimed at learners as pace will be all legal (100km max) but non learners on bigger bikes etc. also welcome if you feel like a slow cruise.

Pace: Slow - 100km max on open road.

Can't make it Saturday - my pub poker final is on with $4.5K in prizes, out of the previous 4 finals I have won a 32" LCD TV & a stereo, so I gotta go play and try to win something good again (to keep or to trademe).

Grrrr - weather is forecast to be good on Saturday too.

I have now got a new exhaust gasket on my scooter, so it sounds more like it should. I have changed the final drive oil (a lot of work to change 180ml of oil). I might have to find somewhere to ride on Sunday!

i will be in leigh (or thereabouts, in one of the many beaches in the area, that is, if i make it that far after getting horribly drunk on wine in matakana) on the same day, riding horses! (apparently riding a horse is the same as riding a bike. i am not convinced, but we'll see if the adrenalin rush of being chucked off a horse compares in any way to flicking through corners on a 250)

Oh dam it I miss out again. :weep: I would have loved to get out there as I've never been on a group ride still new to all this and this website not that easy to figure out hahaa :crazy: never mind.... next time I'm sure! TOTO do you organise these sort of rides frequently? I'd love to hear about them when you do :D

Well this week is going to be the 4th weekend in a row but its all been in a kinda one off style... so just check on friday night if there is something in meetings and events section for learners...good chance that there will be something of interest :yes:

You want somewhere real nice to park up and swim, try Mathersons bay just before Leigh..mint place dude.

Matheson's great bt if you got snorkel etc, just go to the reserve (goat island)...Massive snappers and giant crayfish (bt just for looking, reserve so no fishing!)

it tis as i suspected!!! :bleh: well very similar anyway!
i know a paticular person who took out a new 250 (well upgrading hers to someone elses) yesterday and while doing a Uturn at the top of a street, possibly gave her a little gas at the end while still in the turn and happened to drop her, and put her first crack in the faring, even though its previous owner rode her for 5 years without cracking her, and left her with own tiny tiny scratches for takeover. but main thing is... she's still keen to ride and feeling relatively confident, she was just upset about the bike.
Point to the story... it happens to most when first starting riding... sort of an initiation!

The swim to the little island was great , shame most of you prefered the shade than the water...

brillinat suggestion to do waipu RM , nice roads out there :)

I saved one innocent life and i'm quite pleased about that. It was such a cute hedgehog, I wish I had a backpack so I can take him with me and release him in my garden :love:

Nice riding trough the tunnel on the way back too - Bwaw Bwwaaaw Bwwwwaaaaaaawwwww....:D

hi guys, it was good to meet you all at the cafe today, excellent coffee with local blend, there was real energy food going down at the table (chips, burgers, hot dogs, tom sauce, ice creams etc) and serious appetites to match!

That ride out to Leigh is a sweet run - the double lane toll road on the way back is perfect for speed training especially the long sweeper on the red bridge, but the single lane tunnels are too short - the cagers queue and chaos at the pay stations was amusing.

Awesome weather, hope you all had a good splash. :niceone:

Highlight 3 Breaking News!!! Music man decides to go legal. He rode highway 16 at 110kph :scooter:

Highlight 4 Renegade Master was let loose to have a wee pootle on his own and when we catch him up he rides over from the petrol station to tell us he has found a friend and can he come play :ride: with us. :killingmeTurned out to be our own KB newbie Tom88.

it was great, talked to toto earlier in morning, and he offered me a pillion seat (nice of him) but i said i was going out sooon, and was keeping busy.... then his expression when he arrived and i was waiting at westgate was classic!
im sure there are plenty more good rides ahead!

Yea I felt very sad when I saw you coz I taught you came to see us on your car - I was thinking "oh that poor girl really misses her wheels". The shock came when I realised you were wearing all your motorcycle armoured gear :D

Man, such a nice day and it sounds like I missed out on a good ride. I was stuck in the pub playing poker all day and it was 8pm by the time I finished. Now I will have to go for a ride tomorrow to try out my newly won GPS - I already have the mount on the scooter sorted.

Next week I am off to the motorcycle rally in Hastings, but I will probably be in for a ride to where ever the following weekend.

during my trip up north i stopped by the Matakana village for the farmers' market. i received reports of biker gangs at the Matakana village petrol station and i thought "nah...wouldn't be toto's group..."

an ice cream later i saw you all buzzing through right in front of me! i waved but it's hard to see me with the massive straw hat and hippie clothes (just blending in with the locals...)

sounds like you had a fun ride and a swim too.

i went on a horse ride on pakiri beach - they say riding a motorbike is just like riding a horse (lies.) if we decide to brave the miles and miles of gravel twisties (unlikely) we should make a group trip to the ranch (just entertaining a thought) :)

Did those gravel twisties out by pakiri a few months back. They were awesome fun, til i came round a corner and found a river flowing across the road mid-corner :shit: Things got interesting rather quick... interesting but fun! :lol:
