Check that the name is correct. If so, the site may have changed or may no longer exist.
Exactly the result we were all hoping for.

Good effort Les.
It appears from the letter that there is way too much beuracratic messing about as there are now 4 types of lanes on the motorway system.
Beuracratics justifying there positions.......

Not really surprising is it? They waste their time and our money making so many fucking types of lanes that the police AND public have no idea whats what, or who can use what.
It then takes the likes of Les to give them a heads up, they have to go and get educated by NZTA, then pass around a simplified summary that the average cop can quickly read and follow.
*sigh*
Thanks Les... :niceone:

Supt John Kelly sounds like a very nice man. I think we should buy a beer for both him and Ixion. I'm sure if we sat them both down together with a few cold beers on a sunny afternoon, between them they could solve most of the problems we have with the police (and they have with us).

Well done Ixon!
And well done John Kelly.
Perhaps in future they could add a picture of a bike to the sign so that even the people who don't read KB know what they are allowed to do.

At the risk of adding to an old thread - what a good piece of work.
There are those on KB and not on KB who do tireless hard work to improve our rights, safety, profile and inclusion in policy and planning. All this pays dividends to all of us.
We should acknowledge this more.

In general, a lane resrved for vehicles carrying several people. Also allowed to be used by trucks (God knows why) and motorbikes . There are various grades, T2 (must have two people), T3 (duh) and so on. Probably from 'mass' transit.

They were devised to try and ease traffic congestion and allow specific vehicles only or vehicles with two/three or more people in them, the rules vary. I'm sure you could find the details on the LTNZ site, Google it to bits, you'll get there.

Seems like the Cop is taking a 'real world' approach here - good on him too.
It IS so easy to sit on ones arse and throw shit. It takes a DOER to say "Hey WTF, lets sort this"
Well done DOER!

It was my first time over that hill so I wasn't watching anything but the road until I stopped to check out the views. Did that several times actually. We did manage to take in quite a few sights, Benmore's a helluva toy isn't it?
