Well, almost time for me to head off to the morning briefing ... ready and waiting to receive the first lot of lovely cherubs into my classes!
Only seniors mind you today ... the ones that will bother to turn up! :msn-wink: My classroom is fairly bare, waiting for student's work to be presented in all its splenour later on in the year ...
Hopefully most will have remembered writing implements and they have packed half a brain as well! :zzzz:
I think I need to go for a bike ride! :crybaby:

Personally I am struggling this year. Eldest starts highschool tomorrow. Next one started intermediate today, 3rd child is at primary on her own in the country and the baby will be turning 5 in a month and be starting school too...
I defiantely need to go for a ride.
Still...No delightful messes in the lounge/kitchen/office/laundry/foyer/gym..is very nice.. I will cope.

I have managed to survive the early morning.
Assembly.
Tutor time.
Only yelled twice at the same kid who was eating and listening to music.
Apparently can start releasing some of them back out into the pond after administration checks performed.
Would prefer castration and sterilisation for most of them as an administration check.
Actually, I am enjoying the beaming smiles, fresh uniforms, full complement of stationery. This honeymoon glow will last until next week when actual learning and teaching will commence in earnest.
I long for my bike :weep:

Stay strong gijoe.. without you we would all have to have them home schooled and would not be able to ride our bikes. We thank you.
:niceone: What you do, you do for the greater good.

Somehow I have managed to get through all administration and send off my tutor group back home! :woohoo:
Now I just have to stick around for the meetings and other countless little admin things we do as edjumacators ...
The day looks so good for a ride ... :ride:
I guess I can throw out all the old stuff from last year from my filing system!

This post is brought to you from my office, where I'm hiding from marauding seniors. My form class are in tomorrow, so today I'm doing all my prep for when actual teaching starts. I know I'll have forgotten to do something really important and will be kicking myself come Wednesday, but that's par for the course.
It's been so long since I actually taught I have a sneaking feeling I might have forgotten how it works :shit:
Bike is sitting in the staff outdoor area, so the little darlings won't be tempted to "play" with it. If I wasn't skint I'd take it for a batter out after work :S

Oh and i feel so sad and bad for the lot of ya ... spending weeks flitting around while us who slave in the office continue to do so ... I know you say its time for prep .. but hey hope you enjoyed the break cos like for us the real world has come barking!

enjoyed the break? Nah, hated every minute of it mate! ;)
Before y'all start, we teachers realise how lucky we are and we give thanks to the gods of career advice for putting us on this path. :D

To tell the truth, I was getting a bit bored! :o I rather enjoy being in front of the pimply-faced, attitude giving, slack jawed mendicants! Until about week 8 when you are ready to defenestrate them and discombobulate their souls from their physical bodies! :innocent:
Ahh to see the hope and joy and visions of possibilities ... before they are crushed beneath the machine that is our mis-edjumacation system!
Fly! Be free! To be young and brave, for the folly of youth is wasted till the grave!
We tarry not long in our corridors of learning, gilded by the attentions of the educators prodded by societal norm.
Love, hope, joy and the misery of abuse from the day to day attendance of our earstwhile charges comes and goes in cycles.
All the world is their oyster upon a stage, the taste is not for some, others - delve deep and suck the flavour to its fulsome heights.
Yet epistles, homilies and paens aside, these are all part of the days of our lives, like sand in a hourglass - a soap opera that is grist for the mill of our daily realities!
Be ye well kind people and ministrate peacefully on your daily toil and reflect a little on the path ye took from those first little steps into a room, fresh-faced and beaming oh so long ago!
Ooh, look, such a nice day for a ride :pinch:

Don't hate me today...I have already got on the wrong side of a few teachers today and I am over them. I am likely to bite, and HARD!!!!
I was asked (told) to do a bit (1000 pages +) of photocopying ASAP...so hogged the photocopier...teachers were not impressed!
One of them even said "Staff have to do their photocopying.."
Well, WTF am I...chopped liver? Tosser!:bash:

Show 'em ya foto's and bore the little rascals to death. If anybody manages to stay awake they have motorcycle proclivities. Ergo, sell them a Hornet.

Well I have my first day with the kids tomorrow.
We had a teacher only day on Monday at school and got a lot sorted. Then today we were at the local country club at a seminar.
I am so looking forward to tomorrow. I went in twice in the holidays and set up my class. I have everything planned for the term already, got that sorted last year.
We have ERO this term so it will be a bit more full on than a normal term one! yay!

There was just me and one other boy. His name was Kyan....my name is Ryan  it got a bit confusing at times
So far I love it and can't wait to go back again. I love my Lightening McQueen lunchbox and drink bottle and playing in the playground. What's with the wee wee wall though? Not sure mum would be too happy about me pissing on the wall at home
