Motomart track day!

Just heard a whisper that to ensure the appearance of Fred Merkel at thursdays track day, there needs to be a few more prebookings !!!

So if any of ya are planning on turning up on the day to have a yarn/ride with Fred Merkel, it might be an idea to email (mailto:parts@motomart.co.nz) Martin to let them know your coming !
There is an internet transfer option for payment if ya wanna save yaself 30 notes !~

Was all good though, were quite a number of quick F1, 2 and 3 riders out there in both groups to allow lots of lines to be learnt ! The Motomart crew spent prolly as much time wandering through the pits as they did on the track, so some helpfull advice and lines to boot ! Lots still to get the head around with setting the heavy beast up but was feeling pretty good by the end of the day.
Untill i used the corner entry speed, AJ had dragged me into doing (Something to be said for not using all your top end speed on the straights, them F3 guys fly through the infield ), to try and blast past the thou that had got between us on exit of turn one ! The conti sport decided to let go and send legs flailing everywhere, yuck ! Ok next step change the rubber lol

Started my excercise regime today ! Was doing some vault work, you know ! Them ones where ya throw all the weight on your arms and spin ya legs from side to side (only i was face planted on the bikes gauges rather using my arms)

Was a great day, how was the "Were not gonna stop for lunch, just breaze in a grab a feed off the bbq in ya break" ! Worked well too only missed one of the first sessions today and it wasn't while i was eating !

Couldn't keep pace with ya today man, your looking hot out there !! Should be a good weekend at thunder for you, me thinks ! Shame i can't be there for this one to watch !

Yeah think the ambo staff were a bit bored today aye (which is great to see) few went off the track but no serious offs, think that new paint was fixating and hard to keep the bike sideways on ! Shame we couldn't talk the cops into coming out behind us ! Woulda felt right at home then !

Wow that was an awesome day guys :niceone:, first track day and left with the bike all in one piece so I'm stoked. Cheers to those who dropped past to chat and offer some advice, met some good people.

Thanks Roger for the advice on front end setup, will give it a shot for next time definitely.

Was great fun for everyone!
I was stoked to see everyone improving as the day went on. No major offs either which was even better.

I would however like some feedback.

Hey guys! Thanks Motomart for the WICKED track day! I haven't done Manfeild before, only Taupo twice.

I only take it easy because I don't want to drop my bike, or get close to dropping it! Still get my knee dragging though which is all good. But I am very interested in racing so if anyone could PM me about getting into Formula 3 (I can buy a bike for it) or other options just let me know. There might be some shots of a couple of you guys, you will most likely have passed me so you will get to see what you look like as you disappear in the distance haha.
