Do you have any advice to improve a RX125 motor's performance from standard so i can get more out of my new bucket?:gob: and what changes would you recommend for changing between racing on a tight track (slipway) to racing on something like Taupo?:bye:

Biggest thing I did to mine was change the ignition from points to CDI (not sure some I later models i have benn lead to beleave came CDI standard). This gave me consistant spark and made a hell of a difference to it on the track. Made it a shit load easier to sart as well. I will admit my points were fucked so I had to do somthing.

Apart from that its a two stroke, so all the normall two stroke shit.

Find "Two stroke performance tuning" by A. Graham bell.
Buy it and read it lots.

Mine has always been 100% reliable on points-starts easily etc.I have made no performance mods. Bike has only been on Ruapuna a few times, never a NI circuit.

Thats a big enough subject in itself.Take off everything thats not needed.lights.instruments etc. Tyres need to be decent. Alot of people gear their bikes down somewhat or alot for tight tracks slipway and revert to nearer original gearing for full tracks. For slipway maybe try one tooth smaller front sprocket. Otherwise hang around your bucket track, look alot and ask questions.
