View Full Version : Wanted- yellow plate warning that I'm inexperienced

The L-plate that was lovingly crafted from laminate and card by Nick at Red Baron is now an I-plate, courtesy of my back tyre and the ravages of time (well, a fortnight). As it seems to be easier to find a virgin sheep in Aberdeen than an actual L-plate for sale, does anyone have one cluttering up their mantlepiece that they don't mind donating to me in exchange for a six-pack or something? I'm in Auckland.

My mate lost his one too so he made one out of an icecream container lid and duct tape.
Later he also lost his number plate, he made a replacement for that out of an icecream container lid and duct tape too.
The cops didn't notice the homemade L-plate but they sure did notice his homemade number plate.
He isn't the best example to follow sometimes

Sorry, I should have mentioned I'm a directionally-challenged Pom as well. Where you based, and could I purloin it for my dark purposes?

I have one (several actually) that you are welcome to. I used to have a 250 that I loaned to non-lawabiding people to sit their R tests on (cos their own bikes were too big). When it came back it usually had a nice shiny new L plate on it.

I'm in panmure, next suburb to Mt Wellington.

Oi!! I was only manky because your couch has child-crumbs and an evil cat on it. :p

Big thank you to Ixion who furnished me with a plate. Have discovered that housemate doesn't own any tools, so I'm going to have to fix it on at work tomorrow. Before anyone says anything, I haven't had time to buy any tools and they wouldn't go in my hand luggage for some reason...

Drop in at just about any Chinese $2 shop. I know the one opposite the Vege Mart in Mt Albert sells them, 2 for $2.
