Anywhere for trail / offroad riding around Kai Iwi Lakes?

Hi evey one,

Im fresh into the word of riding, and KiwiBiker.

Ill be heading away camping this long weekend around Kai Iwi Lakes, west of Dargaville. - http://www.communities.co.nz/kaiiwilakes/index.cfm

I was wondering if any one knew of any good riding spots around there? needs to be offroad and not to challenging as this will only 3-4 time ever riding.

Any help/ spots would be a real help :)

Also does any one know of cheap trailer hire places? 3 days hire is kinda expensive at most places.

Yep - on the beach. The best access at the moment is at Omarma about which is a left turn about 4 km before the lakes. Good on a trail bike 4 hours each side of low tide. Best for a novice about 3 hours each side.

there's a mean track around the lake at the camping side.....ive seen heaps of bikers go fanging down there.....:banana:

i dont know many good places.....gas stations are a rip off though so dont waste your money.....look in the yellow pages....
