Hi all,

Just had my tires replaced and now have a loud noise (howl) from the front wheel (I think) on decelleration, from about 95k down to 88k.

Could this have anything to do with the front wheel being put on too tight?

It could be YES! It could be many things mate, Go back to the shop and get it checked out

may be hearing tyre noise due to the tread pattern. You can't really over tighten the axle nut. IF a spacer is left out...then that's a different story all together! Get it checked either way.

could be the little nipples on the new tyre.
I had that on my bike after I got a new front tyre at cycle treads.
Cut them off the noise stopped:2thumbsup

My brake pads made the craziest noises when they were on their way out. Got them replaced ASAP and it went away.

Yeah mine did too...this grinding noise....also with a few loud CLUNKS for good measure....that was really bad of me as the pads were so far gone I was grinding metal :P lucky my discs didn't give out. Ah well you live and learn.

Spot on... I checked my front wheel and sure enough, there was a large rodent lodged firmly between the caliper and the rotor. haha. :eek5:

Ditto - on my new PR2.

It stands to reason I guess.

I've never meet a nipple that does not make a howling noise when you put a lot of pressure on it........

does it do it on all surfaces??? or every time you slow down???

is it when brakes are applied?? applied hard or soft???

or engine braking???

does it make any strange noise at slower speeds???

type of bike and tyre???
