Why does it have to be clear? You can get black stuff at Supercheap. The clear tubing sold at Mitre10 will last quite a long while (as in years) when useds for fuel lines, but eventually it does go yellow and hard and may crack.

What about the clear stuff with the crissy-crossy reinforcing in it?
There's a place in the Gt South Rd, somewhere down around where it wiggles around at Penrose (just before the gun shop). They sell hose and tubing of every sort, mainly for industrial use. Dunno what minimum they sell. Chekc the Yellow Pages.

Crissy-crossy™? Enough of the big words! Actually, I think that's usually just polyester fibre reinforced PVC tubing.

Hose & Fittings (http://yellow.co.nz/companies/Hoses/Hose-&-Fittings-NZ-Ltd/100930858_984.html)?.
I'll be next door to Hose Supplies (http://yellow.co.nz/whitepages/Penrose/Hose-Supplies-NZ-Ltd/100331639_BUS.html) tomorrow afternoon, so I'll pop over and see what they have, if I have time.

I went to both (since I couldn't arsed heading back to work straight after lunch). They both have a 'petrol-resistant' Parker Braided PVC hose (see attachment) but it's not really the business - I expect it'll at least go cloudy fairly quickly and then only be translucent, like it it does with brake fluid, which will defeat your purpose behind having a clear hose.
There's another one listed in the Parker-Dayco catalogue but it doesn't seem to be stocked in NZ.
I've got some normal PVC at home so I'll drop it in some petrol over the weekend, see what happens and post the results.
Oh, and to be honest I don't think it'll look any good with the braiding - it'll just look like you've put on an off-cut of garden hose.
