At this moment I will be heading down on Sat... thinking I will not make it for the ride run. But ya never know.. I will have to be well motivated to get up and out early on the sat so there is plenty of time to unwind at the other end. It is only 494km from here to there, so realy another hour on the trip to MM. Looks like I might have to have a talk to my ass...
Or I could just go to the Sundown and ride for 10 minutes to get there.... :scooter: naaah!

I don't recommend it G, unless you plan to do the Saturday ride. I took my time last year (Espresso @ Jaffa's, Lawrence) arriving about 1.00pm to watch bikes coming in all afternoon and @ that time there were few tents up.
BTW the pub is booked out of bed accomodation apparently on a yearly basis.

BTW: those going to Beaumont Rally via Lawrence be aware of the roadworks west of Lawrence at Tunnel Hill, a few cars have bit the dust there (but no bikes so far) on the gravel/mud getting spread over the road by earthmoving machinery, trucks etc.

In fact the Honda N360 was began manufacture in the late 60's as Honda's first production car, and using an air cooled two cylinder engine. Then they made a N600 with around 45hp. Actually the 600 has some good get up and go. And top speed of close to 100mph if the carb is worked a little...... ok ok... maybe it is time for www.cagedkiwi.co.nz (http://www.geocities.com/historybeginns/Honda_.htm) uh... now there is an idea.... :whocares: ??????

If you guys are going to be in Dunedin at lunchtime then you might as well go down and join the group ride which should be arriving at the Hotel Sth Otago in Balclutha by the time you get there.
If you look at the programme it leaves Beaumont at 11am, over to Tapanui ,leaves there at midday for the Clinton pub (lunch), leaves Clinton at 1:30 for Balclutha (Hotel Sth Otago), leaves Balclutha at 2:30 for Milton (probably the pub), leaves from Milton BP at 3:30 for the Lawrence pub and leaves the Lawrence pub at 4:30 to get back to the site

Left Free2B's place and had cruized down to Lawrence for a coffee, We originally thought RM had left to meet up with the day ride but he was running later than us.
Made it to the site and meet up with DaffyD and set up camp in sheet shit lane... Then off for our own ride as we missed the organised day ride from the rally... up to Millers Flat crossing the bridge and riding the other side of the river, and back into Roxburgh for a late lunch. Back down to Etrick and spirited ride with Bruce up and over to Moa Flat (Awesome road and ride for all bikes, awesome sweepers that wind up with a few nice tighter corners.) A quick refuel at Tapanui and then back to the site to do the rally stuff of drinking and talk shit knee deep in sheep shit. We had our own entertainment of a random picture graphic war and I did see and hear others commenting on our fun so the digital camera was pointed in their general direction ;-) (randomly of cause)
Next morning loading the the bikes up the shit was every where... and was low cloud stuck in the valley, it was slowly being burnt off by the morning sun but it was too slow and lingering as we left. Morning roads were pretty clear and just a few minor sheltered spots to watch. IN to Lawrence for Brunch and coffee. Next stop off to Milton for a refuel and I took the lead.... Manuka Gorge yah ;)
Waiting for the group to catch up at the petrol station off up to Waihola for refreshments and yet another chin wag. Rossi and Botb off up state 1 while Allan, Glenys and myself tiki toured our way back criss crossing one and then out to Outram and into Mosgiel, Fairfield, Green Island and back to Glenys place for a coffee. Decided to spray and wash the tents of sheep crap and then dry them out.
Great to catch up with every one and overall not a bad bouquet rally. Will admit it did feel as if something was missing. There was no competitions... burn-out, tats, wet-jock for the ladies, wet-T, etc. The alchol and food prices were reasonable and we had fun.

What a nice wee rally....
I am still feeling a little shattered after the ride there and back.
The wet was beginning to get to me as we headed down the road southward. Drizzle mi nizzle is no fun at anytime.
Stoping at those round rocks on the coastline, umming and argging over how they became.
Bikes showing outstanding "character", the only thing wrong was they needed gassing up from time to time.
Once the wetness cleared the brain was happy, getting through them there hills to find the wee pub on the side of the road. I would have shot straight past, thinking that it was just another stop point on the way where bikers were hydrating. Thankfully the Sensible one had his witts about him and turned in.
Bloody happy with me little badge, thats what it is all about uh???
The bonus was nice spot (even with sheep shit) niceish people...(no ones purfect, and I was getting the piss taken outa me, so ya cant expect much more than niceish uh!!!)
I was still retasting the whitebait sammies while riding home... I think that meant they tasted good.
Seeing faces that matched names here was cool, look forward to the next one... "Brass" me is guessing for most.
Woodstock has always been a fav of mine at these gigs, but this time they tasted like shite... maybe I am growing up?
The weather back could be said to be mint once we got out of the foggy vally, headin back up central. Mighty cold at Clyde though, 4 degrees was showing on me dash, and my fingers were feelin it.
Those preeddy blue and red lights are so nice, esp' parked up behind some fella whom shot past us earlier... poor bugga, serves em right.
Hey so people, great to see ya's, and see some or all sooner or later at the upcomin rallies as they happen..... as me weekend pass seems to be carrying over quite nicely... the hard bit is now to get it in writting.
:done:  :done:
I'll add the rest of me pics tomorrow to my webshots thingy, and a video clip soonish.DVD drive drama
1. A round rock
2.Camp
3.Beaumont Hotel (didn't ya know?)

WTF? HOW did he know that? it was wrapped in an orange towel and jammed in a carboard box, he'd never actually seen it!!

Hey Delightful Dudes and Dudess's,
Thought I'd perk this thread up and breath life back into it again:2thumbsup
Whose coming to this, I reckon it will be a fantastic weekend, as I have said earlier its Landlords Gus's last time before he heads away, so he will be pulling out the stops, and who knows if it will happen again:crybaby:
Me for one I cant wait, I shall get there hammering on the gates on the Friday,to be let in, pitch the tent, get everything organised and down to the pub to start the afternoon off, wont have too many though and may even head back to the tent to put my feet up and read a book.
Just bought Clive Woodwards book (you know the guy that got us, the UK, to win the last world cup) unlike that useless bunch of prema donna rugby players you guys had and that pig headed Graham Henry, this guy shook the tree and made the apples drop from it and what Golden Apples they are.
Martin Johnson (English last skipper that held the World Cup and kissed it) has just been appointed Team Manager, with Brian Ashton back on board as Coach and with Rob Andrew on board, I reckon the brits....are going to do it again.
So 2011 will be the World Cup Victory for the UK Again
And 2012 will be the Olympics in London.
Sorry didnt mean to rub it in
Coi for now, see you at the Beaumont

Oh well Ghosty, I am sure that the wedding will be :zzzz: exciting.
I have had texts galore today from fellow bikers, non kber's, who are making it down to the Beamonty Rally on the Friday, so hope some of you dudes, get down on the Friday too.
The pub will be warm and friendly:Punk: and I for one, like getting there and having a large night on Friday and tamer one (yeah right:innocent:) on the Saturday.
I again will refuse the ride out on Saturday morning, as will be looking forward to a nice long lie in, and will have the burner filled to make a nice warm cuppa first thing.....................
Great to be at last getting organised for these rallies, ahving said that though, I lost all my luggae, when I rode back from Invercargill a week again, so am mourning the loss of whit loads of good gear, and having a major fight with my Insurance, do you have receipts........what wankers, who keeps receipts for things like Thermals, and knickers.......what nerks they are.
See you all at the Rally.

Dey Dudes and Dudess's Very late but here goes..........................
Got there at about 545 pm after mucking about all day and not achieving much. But set off in the sunshine, and the ride was fantastic........the sun on your bike whilst riding I don't think can be beaten by anything. I love the change from Alex through to Beaumont with all the craggy hills and rambling countryside, again makes me sigh with happiness to be in this country.
Got to the site, and was met by the Grinning and ever lovely Gus, bought that fab long sleeve t-shirt, well worth the dosh, and looks the bee's bollocks.
Pitched the tent after saying gday to Paula and Dale, and realised that once again I had forgotten something useful.....my gas:doh:
The night passed with faces old and new and as usual too many beers, which rendered a restful sleep.
My tent got shook by my mate Brad in the morning, with a soft voice of "Jan would you like a cuppa", god knew what she was doing when she made men like this...............
The ride out wasn't until 12pm, what a thoughtful time of the day,,,,, so jumped on my mate Pete from Ashburton, 1300 Honda, and boy that shifted, we had stacks of stops in Milton, and everywhere, Clydedale was the final stop and how spectacular is it there.
The whole day was sunn, fun and hilarious at times, with annectdotes flowing and good humoured banter gathering speed. All in all 4 hours of fun.....always blissful on the back of some else's bike.
IDB you were missed :crybaby:but I found another gallant knight who did okay......
The night.................Met up with Tom the Pom bro's who was as mad as a box of hopping rogs but what a ncie, guy, he jumped on, knew he was going to be fun, when he said he he won some money he would have a bouncy castle in his back garden!!!!! my kinda guy....
Simon (Toms bro) and I danced and bounced around most of the night, and bollox was spoke for a good 7 hours, we danced on the trailer, I was going to do a partial striptease, but then the song ended thank god.............Then Anton and I crooned on the stage with the band................uh oh at this stage, the head was saying "wooooo pissed bird in motion", then the strangest thing happened.
The head steered me to the kitched at 3am for 5 cups of tea, and I headed to bed.
Woke up the next morning, by 830 and after another cuppa this time by nice geezer Baz, set off withthe Ashburton crew, by 930, thats a total frigging 1st.........
We rode through sun, got to Roxborough, and the shittiest bit of drizzly fog engulfed us in highwayman weather, and it was f..king shit all the way through until I reached cromwell......
Waved goodbye to Ashburton Pete, and Christchurch Ian.....and felt a pang of loneliness again as good friends headed away from me.:baby:
So headed home, and crashed to bed fairly early and I dont think an earthquake would have woken me up.....I reckon its better to have a lie in on the Sunday myself......
Rightyo write up done, heres hoping Danny and Bloke are having a fun 10 day trip together, and good fun again to catch up with XKNuts, Free2 Be, Al, and all the rest.
Steam our paths will cross again one day mateypoos.
For now, cheerio
