I was thinking I'd be very happy to pay $5,500 for it. 6k probably a fair asking price. Scrolled down and saw he's offering it for $5200.

I have a feeling I've seen this guy's name higher up on a few race results so if it's who I think it is, the bike won't have been trundled around by a nanna rider, but who knows? Seems to have the right boxes ticked for being looked after properly. I'd rather have a hard-ridden well maintained bike than the other way round.

Nah, Scott Birch - from a bit further south. Don't know if any relation. Was aware of other Birch also very handy on a dirt bike. I could be completely wrong about name/race results, just seemed very familiar and rung a bell.

One of the Singleton boys rode a KX250 in the '06 ISDE. Kiwi Rider mag bods tried it out it after the event and found it pretty easy to ride. I remember the main mod was a flywheel weight, not much else. Aren't these KXs about $9500 new? This one seems like a good buy. I'd jump in quick.

yeah chris singleton... i go riding with him sometimes. good guy. yeah he said he would do a trade, so im pretty keen. its just the whole kawasaki thing im not sure on... never was a huge fan of kawis for some reason.

As for the suspension... No matter what the suspension is set up for on my new bike, im getting it re-valved etc for my weight almost straight away. rode a cr125 with race tech suspension today. holy shit. amazing difference.

90 hrs and only did the top end at 80...hmmm. ok on an enduro bike but an mxer I'd say too long. But at $5,200 you could put a grand away for the bottom end in the next 40-50 hours and it would still be a good buy.

This Birch is no relation to Chris. Does Scott Birch work in a bike shop?

Hey honda power, Ha, your name dropping is a lot more impressive than mine - you actually know the Singleton in question! I've had more Hondas and Yamahas than anything else, some a hell of a lot better than others from same stable. Like you I was never really keen on Kawasaki, had a dud one years ago. Then I tried the KLX. Not without it's flaws but I was was really happy with it. Good to try a few different colours out. Not marrying bike - be a brand slut and enjoy the variety.

One thing I've found. It's very easy to get focussed on price especially when shopping and comparing on trademe as they all look pretty good in the photos. A really good example of any bike is much easier to live with and worth paying extra for.

Tried that with a yellow flavour..... you should always wear protection.......

camchain

Uh-oh. Maybe too many owners/hours on that yellow one cheese?

New bike can be pretty exciting, protection can also help prevent premature exaltation.
