Summer Hill and Ruakokoputuna Road, Wairarapa

HI all.

myself and my mate kicked our trusty poneys in the guts, and headed off on a day trip.
headed up admiral road, which takes us to summer hill.
back down to martinbrough, gas in the tank pie in the tummy, and headed in to ruakokoputuna.
after getting to the top i said to justin, you sure you want to go down here, ( southerlands track to the hut )
he is a little bit green on his new bike. (yer shel be right.)
so off we went.
all going good till we came across a old slip on the track,
one side was a little steep.
i managed to skid all the way down, bmw made it halfway, came a greaser...:doh:
got him back togeather, and off we went.
one steep creek crossing, i took his bike up this one, didnt want him to fall in the creek...... rest of track was in good condition, few deep ruts over hanging trees, all good.
made it to the hut in one piece, had a chat with some hunters who where staying there, sadled up and headed back out.

bmw made it out with only a few minor hicups, other wise was a good ride.

just thought i would check track conditions for next weekends ride,
i still have my road tires on and made it no trouble.
all roads in and out are in great shape.

its funny - Ive been there several times but anytime I see a good set of photos like these I can't wait to go there again.

yip yas good, it wasnt to hot so didnt feel like was in a sauna in my gear......:sweatdrop.

its a great track, a few sidelings temting to explore, but need a more experanced rider with me, bit tricky to take a newbe off in to the wops..:eek5:...have to keep a eye on my mate. hes great at falling off......:2thumbsup
