Hey, I was just wondering what everyone does to deal with sweating while wearing bike gears. Obviously on a hot day wear lightweight gear, but still i sweat because all the gear has silky innards and I get sweaty. Just wondering what people do, who ride to work and school about dealing with sweat issues?... So hard to stay fresh.. lol also was wondering if wearing that anti wind gear underneath helped keep u clean..

Haha just re read that ! You dirty filthy biker scum you !!!!
Hell one day you may even progress to where the rest are ! When your future father in law says that she must've scraped you from out the bottom of the barrel, you be sure to remind him that that aint true, in fact you be the scum he might see floatin round the top !!

Sounds unlikely, but Merino thermals underneath do help with sweaty stuff...insulation can work two ways...

I got one of these...

Really helps to stop you sweating. Doesn't stop you totally of course but it evens our your body temp.

Makes getting your leathers off so easy. And the compression effect actually helps my knees on the longer rides.

I wear a long sleaved T shirt under my gear and Shift (Draggin) jeans. Yes you get hot, open all the vents and keep moving, if you have to stop hope there is shade!!

There are other things you can do, like wearing a damp t-shirt underneath your jacket. There are actually special undergarments like this you can buy, that hold moisture and evaporate it slowly, but I dunno anyone here that sells them.
Me - I just try to ensure I travel when it's not too hot if I can, and I deliberately choose a route that ensures minimal stoppage, even if it's not the quickest.
I also made sure to buy a jacket with provision for all-year riding: thermal liners for winter, and either lots of vents (last jacket had 8 vent zips!) or similar (current leather jacket has only two vents but the whole front and around the back of the neck zips off to expose mesh). Even so, as soon as you're stuck in start-stop traffic, doesn't matter if you were riding in only your undies, you're gonna heat up from the sun, heat off the road, and the fact you're sitting on summat that converts refined dinosaur spooge into heat'n'noise...

I use sweat bands on my wrists and find that soaks up a lot of the sweat. Also ride with the visor up a lot to keep cooler. Good luck, the weathers supposed to start cooling off soon anyway.

Underarmor tops are designed to move the sweat around the body.
Buy them in most good sports or gun shops.

I find my leather one piece soaks it up well, just need to leave it hanging all week and shes sweet to go next weekend.
also the leather has holes in, above 130km/h these let enough air into my sholders/chest area. I have also found that i dont notice the heat untill i stop anyway.

Over summer I wear a dry-fit top under my jacket.

I take my work clothes in my tank bag and get changed.

Might have to try this. Just the thing for the MacKenzie Basin in January. Will have a look at the sites suggested by Portokiwi as well (Looks like it could be good for handcuffs too ;)).

Thanks guys

I'm currently dressed in fashionable black, black and more black.
Kathmandu have a sexy (black) little number MBT09ES08 that is specifically designed to keep you cool.
Try one of those.

Previous attempts with long-sleeved t-shirts, were left with sweaty results.

Nylon/spandex FTW!

Just a good helmet ... with a dark visor so no one will recognize you!
Gets a bit nippy in winter ... and you may need to wear a thermal condom or willy warmer ... as a concession to the weather .... but apart from that you should be fine ....

It's all good riding a 'naked' bike .... or bike ... naked ! :shifty:

I wear running tights under my black/gray leather all summer and works perfectly.

Leggings (http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/deefuz-1000-junior-leggings-21886855/) T-Shirt (http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/deefuz-2000-l-s-t-shirt-47241723/)

Mind you, we have 35º~40º summers over here.

open your jacket cuffs and put them over top of your gloves. Tie your gloves on but leave your sleeves unzipped. This blows air up your sleeves and inflates your jacket.

Unzip the top third of your jacket while you are under 80km/hr.

Just those things are usually enough for me, and thats in dririders, the hottest of them all. The sleeve trick is great on the open road.

I know you're not the only one to raise these types of issues, but I can't believe so many can't fucken figure it out.

GET VENTILATTED GEAR!
Get ready promptly and get moving quickly when gearing up.
If you must come to a stop try and pick your spot - a shady spot, even if I have 10m in front of me at the lights, on a hot day I stop in the shade.
If you stop and are off the bike strip down.

and RIDE FASTER!

Fuck me, it's not rocket science.

Hey, I was just wondering what everyone does to deal with sweating while wearing bike gears.

What Porto says. I bought some of those (on Nicstas advice) and it has been great. Keeps the sweating down and makes the gear easier to take off at the other end :2thumbsup

Stirling sports also stocks it. Not cheap but good.
