Rego for Bike v car

I happen to get rego papers for car and bike at the same time. I'm sure last year the bike was cheaper than the car.

This year car is $200.10 and bike is 249.60 (12 months)

ACC levy for bike $189.02 - car $126.01

I'm sure I heard/read somewhere they wern't going to sting bikes (as most accidents are caused by cars :shake: ) for higher acc levys.

Any thoughts?

I didn't hear that, but what guts me is that, if $189.02 is for ACC, why should I have to pay it twice for two bikes when I can only ride one at a time?
Yeah, I know there's no point but it just feels good to grizzle sometimes. :angry2:

As long as I've known, the bike has always been more expensive than the car, rego wise. It's also more expensive to insure. Was more expensive to buy, and is also more expensive to service. Parts for it are more expensive, and you need expensive gear... It's my most expensive "hobby"!!!

But, you make it all back in the huge savings in the WOF prices over a car. :confused:

And its 249.60 irrespective of distance ridden. So my GS1200 works out at $0.02 per km, while my RE5 is $0.50 per km.

Is the RE5 really that much more dangerous to ride? :brick:

It used to be $274. That is the rego cost with less "sting" that you're paying now. Like it or lump it, Motorcyclists cost ACC more than car drivers and passengers. That's how it is. Don't fall off and hurt yourself if you want it to go down further. Make sure you've got decent gear and do as many riding courses as you can afford each year.

At this point I'll just be happy to get the bike registerd not worried about huw much it is.
