New recruit to biking here in NZ. Still learning ....guess at 59 I have a lot to learn.... Quick question. I have managed to burn my leg twice on the exhaust (I know dumb!!). Is there an exhaust "guard" that I can get?

Welcome young man. I've never heard of exhaust guards for GN250s. Don't put leg on exhaust. Sorted.

welcome! Ive just had another birthday and im currently re evaluating my level of commitment to the terrain .... some of the riding I do is insane for a rotund upper middle aged man!
But exhuasts... best try not to lick it till it cools sufficiently is my advice:stupid:

How the hell...?

Send us a pic of your legs. Do you have an extra one?

:D

Seriously though, the header pipe goes underneath the engine, and it has a single silencer right at the back of the bike.

I have the answer you need: Do not ride in shorts! Jeans are the minimum for slow-speed learner stuff, then purpose-designed trou with proper protection when you start going faster. (And always get on and off your bike from the left.)

Welcome aboard, and welcome to the addiction known as motorbikes.

Ah, when I had a GN my 10 year old learned this one.

Climb off the other side.

And yeah, Klingon's right. Jeans or better.
