Gonna have a bit of a break. May look at getting another bike later on in the year and use it as a race/road bike but only for the street circuits.

Why does it have a power commander and a HRC ecu??

Why does it have a power commander and a HRC ecu??
Ecu changes where the power is and the power commander smooths out the fueling and power delivery. Well thats my understanding of it anyway, I could be wrong.

yeah you are...they both change fueling...maybe ignition in the HRC one...a power commander is a cheaper option to piggy back on a stock ecu...a kit HRC ECU is an adjustable race ECU.
I just thought it was odd...I did know of someone with a similar set up in the past...had a Yoshi kit ecu and a power commander...that was because of the ignorant bike shop mechanics he delt with though.

When I bought the bike it only had the HRC ecu in it, a year later I put the power commander in, and WOW it made a huge difference with the smoothness of the whole bikes power.

Yeah...you would have got the same results if not better tuning the HRC ecu...thats why race bike tuners prefer kit ecu's over power commanders and other piggy back devices..most of the top hondas racing over the world will be running the kit ecu...more tunablity.

The prob is to get the HRC or in my case the kawasaki ecu tuned cost hours and hours on the dyno. Its easy for the dynojet places to just plug in there computer to tune ya bike

be more that worth it to get the kit ecu tuned rather than a piggy back power commander...there is no reason to have both!! It may depend more on the tuners ability...if you loaded the software on to your own laptop...and took the bike to ray clee...I doubt it would cost you much more. there are definatly big differences between tuners...hamilton doesn't have a good dyno operator..[if you want to know how I know PM me..there are good credentials involved]..so your on a hiding to nothing before you start here anyway!! but at the end of the day...a good tune should only be the cost of a set of slicks max if the guy knows what he's about...probally less!

my bike's got both the power commander and the YEC ECU.
Kit ecu can change fuelling and ignition timing - but it is quite coarse in the adjustable ranges.
Power Commander just does fuelling, but down to 250 rpm increments, so can smooth out the bits that the ECU can't.
