Caution: Serious ranting.
Fucking wankstains.
Yesterday, I had 5 guys hired from Allied Workforce helping me out to try and get a job done, one of them stole my cellphone.
Called up Vodafone last night, explained the situation and asked to have my number blocked for outgoing calls. "Sorry our system is down, we can't do that at the moment. It should be running in half an hour." I asked if they could ring me once the job was done on my landline. "I'm sorry, if the system is down, I can't leave a note for anyone". I inquired as to whether she could still use a pen and paper. Apparently Vodafone either doesn't trust their employees with sharp implements, or the ones that I spoke to have shown a dangerous tendancey to fall asleep on their pencils.
Rang back an hour later, explained the last debacle, asked if the job had been done. "No." After explaining the same situation 3 times, and her profound lack of understanding of the English language, I asked to speak to her Supervisor. Rather than transfer my call, she hung up on me.
Call back. By this time, i'm starting to get very fucked off by the sutomated hag that demands that I enter my cell number, and PIN "to make the process easier", and yet everytime someone answers, I have to explain my name, number, PIN, address and the date I lost my virginity before I can even start my conversation. What's the fucking point of giving it to the sutomated system then?
Spoke to the Supervisor this time. Very friendly, very helpful. Apologised for the hassles, synpathised that i'd aready spent an hour and a half on the phone. Put a block on the number straight away. Apparently not that hard.
Went to bed still fuming. :angry2:
Called them back the next day to find out if any calls had been made between the time it was stolen, and the time the number was blocked. "We have no record of that number being reported stolen." Fuck's sake.
Had the number blocked (again) and they told me that 3 calls had been made the night before (all after the supposed first block had been put in place) and that they would all be charged to my contract as "I hadn't contacted them to inform them".
Four fucking hours I had wasted by this point, and at least 10 phone calls with all the "transferring" (cutting off. Is this a Vodafone policy? Cut someone off once they start asking difficult questions?)
Unfortunately I have to contact them again tomorrow to get some more information before going to the cops.
And to think that I left Telecom for bad customer service.

Sounds like them alright.
You should be able to get the phone number re-issued on another sim, making the old sim useless.
Vodafone have yet to realise how hopeless their support system is (I used to have several sims with them, now back to one, because of the difficulty with them). Telecom have at least tried to address this area, and while you still get shuffled a few people, you eventually hit someone who will do what you need. Vodafone... you get sent into a black hole, and bounced around people, who disagree with what the previous person told you

In Australia Vodafone give you $160 credit to be used in a month for $29 on their prepay system. Makes landlines obsolete. Here, due to the fact that the only competition is telecom (can't really be called competition though) the populatlion is paying effectively nearly 5 times as much for cell phone services. NZ is getting raped both by foreign and local companies.
Cheese and milk is about 40% cheaper than here, and a lot of it comes from here.

The $1 charge is ONLY for Pre-Pay Customers, not On Account & it has been introduced for this reason/s:
Increasingly our customers are shopping for and servicing their mobile
accounts online. Convenience is the key benefit driving this change. To
meet our customer's expectations we are driving our business online,
enabling our customers to interact with us via the web (as well as other
self service channels like TXT and IVR) 24/7, from anywhere in the
world. We are also creating exciting new mobile phone based self service
options.
This practice is common in other industries e.g. Airlines, Banking and
in other OpCo's around the world e.g. UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Hungary.
The vast majority of our Prepay customers already prefer to self serve,
with over 95% (14 million) transactions per month. We have and will
continue to invest millions in these self service channels, especially
in mobile online service as we meet customers' increasing demand for
online service, 24/7, anywhere in the world.
We have implemented a clear, simple and easy to understand policy of
charging $1 for all agent assisted service regardless of call reason or
duration. The $1 service charge covers only a fraction of the cost of
providing operator assisted service.
If in the past you had needed to contact Vodafone customer services to
advise of a network fault and the issue was not resolved, please let me
know what the issue was and any other information e.g. time / date issue
logged with CS and I will investigate on your behalf and confirm what
the problem was and what fix occurred to resolve the issue, if any.
I understand that there have been times that our systems have been
unavailable and I will be more than happy to look into this however I
will need specifics to be able to log a request with our technical team
to check further as the times you had given with your complaint is
general and I was not able to pin point what the problems were.
I hope these explainations answer the questions you have raised and
please feel free to contact me directly by replying to this email if you
would like to discuss this further.
My wife has a Pre Pay Mobile with Vodafone & as a result, I did make a Formal Complaint about this issue to Vodafone, in my case it was done over the phone, with me dictating the complaint to a very helpful CSR, their reply can be read above ^^^.

My god Paul, you are everywhere! It's Grant here, from the Vodafone Forums. :woohoo:
For those who are interested, yes, Vodafone have their own forums here:
http://forum.vodafone.co.nz/index.php?act=idx
Please bare in mind, the language used on these forums (abusive language) is not allowed & frankly I'm really surprised that this abuse appears to go unchecked by the Admins - it gives a really bad impression of bike riders for those people who view these forums (non-members) & those who have recently joined. I'm sure the rules of the forum state otherwise??
Whilst I appreciate things happen that do really annoy us, there is no need - in my honest opinion - to get all abusive about it, it just looks ghastly & puts people right off.
All of the above is my opinion & I'm sticking to it.

Gubb,
Count yourself lucky - one of our phones that was stolen in the UK - they ran up an amazing 7000 GBP in calls in 2 weeks (the person was on holiday and didnt know that the phone was stolen).
Vodafone didnt have any systems in place to note the extreme difference in call volume (her normal bill was about 130 GBP per month).
I didnt enjoy explaining that to my boss (kinda fucked that line of the budget for the month)
Please bare in mind, the language used on these forums (abusive language) is not allowed & frankly I'm really surprised that the language used at times on these forums, appears to go unchecked by the Admins - it gives a really bad impression of bike riders for those people who view these forums & who have recently joined.
I can see what you are saying - I just glance over what I don't like -= its no biggie. I actually find it refreshing that we don't have all the idiotic PC crap that so many forums put up with.
I guess its the audience also - Im sure a vegan wouldn't like a hunting forum, and a gay bloke wouldn't like big busted read head forums either (pm me for link). It seems that a lot of people who ride bikes are a little rough around the edges don't mind a bit of swearing, esp when its a rant.
I hope you can get past it (because it's not going to change), and enjoy for forum for what it is.

Miss Mully had a big problem with Vodafone cos they didn't want our money!! (I have a work phone, so I don't have to deal directly with the muppets....)
(bit of background, Miss Mully's mother is sick, at the time this happened, she was in the High Dependancy Unit at Auckland Hospital.)
Miss Mully decided to switch her prepay to a contract (she was spending enough to make it worthwile). Went online and found the plan she wanted (X minutes for X dollars, X text messages, etc) and signed up.
Go forward a month or so, they send us a bill. No problem, just go online with the credit card and pay the bill, right?
Fucking Wrong!!!!
Their system decided not to accept any of our credit cards. Oh how we chortled.
Once she (finally) gets through to them, they tell her that all the credit cards are all "tagged" to her prepay account (it's the same number, BTW) and that they can't (fucking won't) "untag" them to pay her bill.
This is despite the fact that she's used one of these cards to top-up her mum's prepay account.
So they start sending her text saying that she will be cut off if she doesn't pay the bill. She rings again to talk to a "supervisor" and explains the situation (again!!). Unfortunately, this supervisor was only made a supervisor because they drool down their shirts less than the other knuckle-dragging morons.
Again, nothing happens and she gets more texts that she will be cut off (I find it hard to believe Vodafone don't want our money this much).
In the end, it only got sorted because her work (which spends about $15K/month on mobile communications) is tendering and the person running the tender tells Vodafone that they will be removed from the tender if they don't sort it out, pronto.
So they finally pull their collective fingers out of their collective arses and (please, pretty please) take our money.

Vodafone have a few issues that need sorting out. Late last year I was working on a job closing down a company due to a merger. The mobile phones went with the staff to the new company and we onbilled them for the costs until we got to transferring them. Working independantly meant I did not have a regular authoriser for any bill payments that needed making.
We missed a month (biggish bill of a bit over $1K) No problem, when the next account came in (now around $2.3K mark) I loaded up a payment and it got paid. Another month went by and I got a bill showing the overdue amount, I ignored it as it had been paid. I went away for a couple of weeks, then got a call from the new company saying Vodafone had cut the service as the account had not been paid and they had had to pay almost $3K to get the service back, I needed to reimburse them. Hmmm, weird I have paid, so I ring Vodafone. What a friggen joke, they have no record of my payment, I have my bank statement to prove I paid, they will look into it.
A few days later I had heard nothing so I rang again, they had done nothing to find the money as I had not provided enough information! Right so I provide the information and wait. A week goes by, I hear nothing so ring again. Oh yes, we have found it now and it is on your account, you now have a credit balance of $1100. Cool says me, I will have that back thanks. No we dont refund, you will use the balance anyway. Well see no we wont as we are closing the account. Oh well no problem, it will take about 10 working days to get a refund sorted. No, says me, you have had that money for 2 months, you have cut services and demanded payment for an account that was already paid, I want the money back now thanks.
I gave up in the end. Finally found a business consultant that had half a brain to sort it for me, he tells me that the accounts department is understaffed, they have temps that have no idea what they are doing and this sort of problem was happening all the time. Crazyness!

A friend of mine lost her sim card but didn't report it as she thought she had just misplaced it around home somewhere. A few days later she was contacted by Vodafone notifying her that there was unusually high usage on her card. Someone had found it and ran up a couple of thousand dollars on it!
She took it on the chin as it was her mistake for not reporting it missing and agreed to pay the full amount come the next monthly bill.
She was horrified however to discover a couple of days later when her eftpos card started declining, that Vodafone had automatically taken the money from her bank account without permission/knowledge before they even sent the bill out.!
She was fuming and vowed never to have anything to do with those Vodafone arseholes ever again.
I wouldn't be surprised if their delaying tactic is deliberate so someone can run up a big bill on your card that they can charge you for. They must make hundreds of thousands extra through such things.

Go ride your bike & release your massive levels of annoyance on the road, if you feel the need.
Calling someone a fag & telling them to fuckoff is abuse & is a personal attack. If it makes them feel big & tough - then lol.

We should all do the same - log into the vodafone website and the first person who can post a thread** with the any of the following words: cunt, wankstain, moose knuckle, or pussy flaps gets green bling from every person reading this thread.
** screen shots required.

Said slowly so the clearly retarded Zimsar 'gets it'... Why are you posting in this thread then, fuck off.
Said *slowly & clearly* because I thought I could help, by posting a link to the VF Forums - as customers have been helped there, numerous times.
My bad - I was conpletely wrong on that assumption.
Oh, last thing, you think Vodafone is bad - good luck with with the opposition - now that really is something to laugh about & abusive language is totally appropriate! :scooter:

Can you believe it.
Not only have Vodafone people temporarly suspended my account.
They have changed my display name to "I am stupid"
OK - the account suspension was fair the user name was 'el cunt o' - but the 'personal abuse' from the Vodafone staff is a bit off. hehe

The KBers who work for Vodafone have been good to me in the past - when I was having DSL issues.
All these telcos and their processes can lead to Gubb's frustration levels.
Telecom haven't got a phone number listed on their paperwork.
'Gubbstration' as I shall henceforth refer to telco induced anxiety.

I'm really surprised that this abuse appears to go unchecked by the Admins - it gives a really bad impression of bike riders...
...there is no need - in my honest opinion - to get all abusive about it, it just looks ghastly & puts people right off.

Said immigrant has had to ring them many a time for various things, when clients say... errr... I don't know what you're talking about... can't you just ring them?
Usually paid by the hour, so not a big problem ;)

Actually if you're phone is broken it's 120 for faults ;) 123 is the customer service number.
While we're here you have 018 for directories as well (although Telecom sold that to Yellow).
No idea why the number isn't on the bill anywhere. That's the first place many people will look (other than the White Pages).

Because they don't want you to ring them. The harder they make it for people to querry a bill the less people will bother. Quite a money spinner if that mobile broadband billing fuck up is happening.

Wow, that is terrible service. Goes to show, a duopoly is no better than a monopoly. This is why I laugh when people want to privatise government services - as government occupies a natural monopoly all you get is private corporations offering government level service (at best) for higher prices.
I mean, look at AA, they have queues like Work and Income used to when it was Income Support.

The customer isn't always right though. The customer is quite often a retarded monkey that can't string a sentence together without the words like, yunno or kinda in it.
The customer is quite often a barefaced liar after something for nothing.

Yeah I was just thinking I've spent many a long (few hours +) on the phone with Telecom trying to sort problems.
Now I call my friend who works there, she must have a magic computer cos she can do things that 10 other people couldn't.
The day these jerks realize that one person with a working brain and a "magic computer" is worth more than 1000 people in some far away land who´s only qualification is that they can speak English witout too much of an accent will be the day when problems like this get solved smoothly.
If vodafone thinks it is saving money buy paying wages to incompetent twits who´s only function is to piss customers off and waste time rather than people who actually function they are misguided in the extreme.
I choose who I do business with based on their customer service. If I call my internet provider with a problem they pick up the phone immediately and respond with something like: "Hi, this is ___, how may I help you". Then they proceed to solve my problem without transferring me anywhere. In other words a real person with a working brain helps me immediately as a matter of course.

But we don't have a choice which moby phone provider to use. The $hit coverage makes that choice for us.
