Ok, in mark constrast from yesterday - I am certain this post will be better than yesterdays ones! :girlfight:
The Pink Floyd Experience are soon to tour again (they tour bi-annually) & this time around they are calling it their "Back Catalogue Tour"!
These guys (I have seen/heard them three times) are quite simply the best Pink Floyd covers group you will ever see & it's very easy to just close your eyes during the concert & believe that the real Pink Floyd are playing before you......yes, they are *that* good.
Pink Floyd are my favourite group & I have had the privilege of seeing Roger Waters - LIVE! on January 29th 2007 at North Harbour Stadium & it's a date I never forget.....we were situated eight rows in front of the Sound Deck & in the middle of that row, the sweet spot.
Roger & his magnificent band turned it on to the MAX - they also had a FULL Quadrophonic Surround System in action & the clarity from that Sound System was simply astounding! :2thumbsup
Anways - back to The Pink Floyd Experience - they are a Wellington based band & you really should check them out, if your a Pink Floyd fan, seriously don't miss out.

Been probably three or four times to see these guys (Here's one Gizzy folk or ex-Gizzy folk will appreciate, we saw them years ago, probably in the mid-late 90's.... at the DB in Kaiti  there was our group of about 10 of us and about 6 other people there to watch them...... they were awesome even then, and everyone who was there, all 16 of us LOVED it!! They were so good that they ended up attracting people from the main bar and outside to try to come in!!!)
Anyway, these guys do rock, put on an excellent complete stage show and will knock your socks off!!:woohoo:

Pity the Wellington show is at the TSB arena. That venue sucks as it must have the worst acoustics ever.
I saw them in the Michael Fowler a few years ago and that was awesome.

I fucking hate with a vengence these un-original bands that make their living out of somone else's creativity they may very well be technicaly gifted but they aint real artists unless they write their own music

I understand they have permission from the Floyd boys to do so & that in itself is no light achievement!
Why not go & see/hear what they can do - before making such a scournful pre-judgement - who for all intensive purposes do Floyd an incredible amount of justice.
Cheers, G

Oh but they do. Most, if not all of them, are involved in other bands doing general covers and originals. Plus, none of them 'make their living' from doing this...they all have day jobs. It was a shared love of Floyd (amongst other things) that prompted Stan, Glen and Darren to get a group together to play only Floyd stuff. To date, they are the only Floyd covers band in the world to be permitted by Waters to perform The Wall as a theatrical show.
Ken (the Bassist) isn't even a bass player. But he is impressive...check out his rendition of the bass-line in 'One of these days'...possibly better than the original.

QFT!! - Excellent post mate!
It annoys me when people who have no knowledge of a band, slag them off unjustifiably, as was posted above.

I agree.. I've seen Joe Cocker and UB40 there... the venue is really bad acoustically. Imagine listening to your favourite tunes inside a 44 gallon drum... well that's about it.
The only solution I have is to get up front nice and close in the centre - so you hear the initial wavefront from the performers and their PA first, before room reflections kill the experience.

I saw the chch gig that year... Best concert I've been too (haven't been fortunate enough to see Floyd when DG and RW were together).
If you don't like Floyd... your stereo isn't good enough.
