My pissy pussy needs help...

My pussy, female speyed aged about 14, has developed this habit of pissing on things. The tyres of vsitors/clients cars, fellow KBers scarves and jackets, a cupboard in our garage where we store pannier bags etc and the latest is the rear wheel of Mstrs's Gixxer, it seems that nothing is sacred!

You can imagine that this is causing a problem, Mstrs is most upset that pissy pussy should choose his bike to wee on!
What can be done to stop her? Is it some kind of 'old age' thing? Or is it a medical issue?

I don't really want to put her down, at least not until hXc gets home....but I can't stand the smell of cat wee, either!

Will be hormones Tart. I had an old cat that used to spray everywhere too. I took it to the vet and he prescribed hormones for it. The worst with cat piss is it stains and you cant get rid of the marks if you dont spot it and clean it off right away.

Cats often suffer kidney problems, an indicator is increased water consumption and urination. Does the cat drink more than usual?

yungatart
12th February 2009, 14:51
No...she doesn't drink much at all. Mostly out of puddles and we've only had 10 mm of rain this year!

Is it some kind of 'old age' thing? Or is it a medical issue?

It could be just an age thing if she has only just started doing it. I would chuck her in a box and go to the Vet and have her checked.

My old cat had kidney problems. Unfortunately I was too slow getting her to the Vet and after a couple of operations she died.

Odd its not ALL your visitors she pisses on.....:shifty:

I guess cats are like humans, they get old and incontient, maybe like Stirts says, she needs some nappies or depends? Short of shutting her out, I don't know, sorry. (Love the thread title tho)

Cats don't like the smell of citronella oil. Try dabbing/spraying some of that around and see if that helps stop her pissing on things.

It would definately pay to take her to a vet, she could have a urinary infection, diabeaties or it could simply be due to stress for some reason. Also you should be able to buy some sort of spray the kills the odour from cat pee, the vet should also know about this.

Another thing to consider.....and please don't take this the wrong way.....although you think you have cleaned the area where your pissy pussy pisses, your pissy pussy may still smell her piss, which in turn causes her to piss in that same spot.

I believe there is a product - as there always is - that can get rid of the pissy pussy smell that only your pissy pussy can smell.

LIke everyone said take to vet.
The other thing to look at is there something new to stress her out--new cat.dog in the hood, change in your family, house guests.....
If it is stress a product called Feliway will help take the edge off- It is Synthesized natural pheromones & comes in a plug in diffuser but I empathize take to a vet first to rule out medical problem causing the change in behaviour & sometimes hormones are needed with behavioral issues.

This is not a new behaviour. She has been doing it for a while now. But everytime we get her to stop in one place, she just moves on to somewhere else, equally annoying.

My brothers cat does the same thing. Its about 15-16.

It seems to like playing 'hide and go shit' too. :/

Not cool.

Could just be an age thing, but take it to the vets to be sure.

Another vote here for feliway - expensive, but it works quite well :)

Female cats of all ages can get into this habit. Put her down. Tell hXc that she was unfortunately run over, or ran off to join the circus, or something.

We had cat piss problems once when we had cats, but not from ours. Next door's "superbladder moggie" (female) would enter our place via our catflap and deposit the contents of Lake Michican and Lake Huron in various locales around our house. Even the toe of my boot up her date would not deter her. Bitch.

For a small consideration, I could "unfortunately" run over said beastie, or provide a circus for her to run off and join...

Probably an age thing, the old family cat at my parents house has now decided the toilet is everywhere (inside in corners is her favourite). She's now a mainly outdoors cat as a consequence.

Would she use a litter box if you put one inside? Just in case it's a convenience thing of where she's pissing.

Definitely a good idea to get her checked over, even though a trip to the vet usually involves parting with hard earned cash, better to know if there is a fixable problem. Cat pee stinkies is a bitch to get rid of, good luck! Bloody tomcat sprayed in our garage, yuk. Let us know if you find anything fab for freshening!

MSTRS
13th February 2009, 15:58
Just to clarify...she isn't peeing in the house (yet?). But she does sneak into the gargre and leave a wee gift. And there's evidence of her having 'been' in my office, which is accessed through the gargre.
I discourage her whenever I see her approaching the garage door, but cats being the sneaky little fuckers they are, she bides her time...

Pissy Pussy you say?

I thought I could help you so I did a GOOGLE search for "piss+pussy"

Now I may be wrong but I am pretty sure that the images I saw had nothing to do with a cat. There was some screaming like a cat............

We've had our kitten for 5 weeks now.. she has her litter box, but for some reason every now & then, she will piddle on my little fellas bed.. :argh: so I have been soaking everything in Napisan for a few hours, then a regular wash in the machine. Works great.. no smell left at all!!

Maybe you could mix some up & put it in a spray bottle ? :niceone:

Try saying,

Better still, get someone to film it...

You are sure you have got it right, until ya see the film...

My Mrs was certain she had it right. Positive, without a doubt. She was a star. Then I had to wash her mouth out with soap.....

Shit it was funny........
