G'day!

I'm just checking in to say "Thank You!" for the support from everyone during the weekend.

I entered the 'Open Twins' support class on the 998 that was run at the NZ Superbike Championship at Manfeild.

After struggling all Saturday to find any rhythm I finished 4th in the first race, six hundreds behind 3rd place. Sunday came and I managed to ride more relaxed to finish 1st and 2nd in the two races!

It was very emotional for me as it was my first podium. People came up to the bike after the first race and wanted to pose in front of it for photos. I felt like a rockstar for a few moments!

I was lucky to ride with very talented races that kept me honest even though I had a clear power advantage. They kept their corner speeds up and I had to work really hard to catch them. I still have a lot of work to do on the lines and consistency, but the laptimes are still dropping so I feel we're still making progress. Oh, and I managed a new personal best!

A big thank you to VMCC for another wicked event. I'm looking forward to the winter series.

cheers

You went well. I would have loved to have joined you on the track but my 1:35 lap times told me not too.

Thanks all!

I was doing 1.15.2.

I wanted so badly reach the 14's but I didn't. Every time I got a good drive through the infield I seemed to stuff up the other corners.

I've got a long way to go to be competitive looking at what lap times the other classes were doing.
I've been thinking, maybe I should move to ProTwins or something similar where I can improve my riding in a better way.

But I enjoy riding the 998 tremendously, so much FUN, so I'll probably try to stir the pot in F1 this winter again. And I don't see my self on a 600 CBXYZR either, as I've always been on a twin, so it would be a lot to re-learn I suppose. :scooter:

cheers!!

Mate. I reckon that as long as you're enjoying what you're doing, you're winning anyway. Good skills staying ahead of Mr Wintle.

Well done mate ! You truely deserved that feeling you had !
Was bloody great to see the look on yr face after that win !
There is something to be said for pit boards, could see your lead being eaten away in the dying stages of the second race, but all the jumping up and down waving you on, from up in the stands didn't get your attention !

You are most welcome mate, we didn't do anything to the bike though.

Be good to do a measure up for you just to see what's what. Ya might find (as so many people do), that there's loads to change and you've just been riding around it.

Wicked stuff once again!
