Tyre pressure on 2008 Yamaha Scorpio?

Can anyone tell me what the tyre pressure should be on a 2008 Yamaha Scorpio with factory tyres?

The manual says 29psi front and rear, unless the total load is over 100kg, in which case 29psi front, 33psi rear.

Thanks. That seems pretty low do you think? Someone said they thought they should be up around 45. Is it because the tyres are really small?

No idea why anyone would say that. Perhaps they're used to inflating mountainbike tyres?

I run 42psi in the rear tyre of my GSX1400 when I'm riding two-up on the road, but that's the highest pressure anyone I know uses. (I run 30 psi front, 32 psi rear in the same tyres for trackdays.)

Not to mention that when a bike's smaller and lighter, you don't need so much pressure in the tyres to maintain their profile and grip.

29 or 30 psi at each end of the Scorpio should work well for you on the road. 45psi would leave you with very little grip; I suspect it'd be quite unsafe.

I use 32 front 32 rear on my scorpio as I find 29 & 29 to soft even though I'm lightweight also.

Thanks for this thread - answered my question exactly. The manual says 200 kilopascals and the shell garage tyre gauge reads in PSI. Now clever old computer send me to a conversion site which let me do the conversion or gave me the following formula

To convert kilopascals to pounds per square inch, multiply the kpa value by .14503773773020923

which should read 0.14503773773020923

but then I spotted this thread which saved my brain a whole lot of trouble at 11.23 at night:done:
