any ideas what fits, my shock is getting tired
measure 290mm mid eye to eye ,it has 5 dial one way settings on top of shock and spring compression adjuster on the bottom
anyone done an upgrade or can they be redone
I think its original, as it looks to be steel bodied only markings i can find is stamping 6310 ???

Its not only about the shock fitting. Its also about the spring rate being fundamentally correct and the internal damping being suitable to match the motion ratio that the linkage imparts to it. Shocks are not a ''if it fits that okay scenario'', they actually have to work properly to ensure you have a safe ride. External adjustments are not also something that has an adjustment range a mile wide.
If the shock is designed to be serviced it can be rebuilt. Thats most often a better scenario than playing Russian roulette with something that fits and doesnt work very well. Send me a photo of it if you can.

as im still using bike and rear shock is still on it,so it made it hard to get the photos

The similar 1100 shock is more like 320mm long - that will make a complete mess of your rear-end height, and the spring rate etc will be completely different.

email sales at bucketsnbits.com and give them that length.

I've got a 1991 gsxr1100 shock and the length is 311, not 320.
