Now then Kiwi Bikers,
I would like to pick your brains if I may about your bike events down there.
I am located in Yorkshire in England, but I am looking to come down under to have your summer 09/10 looking around your country.
As I am a biker and I organise bike events for a living, I intend on borrowing a bike from a friend of a friend and doing some rallies whilst I am down your way.
I fancy a look at both north and south NZ and I would like to take in events on the way. I put on 4 bike events in the English summer (if that's what you can call it) so with a bit of adjustment to my winter organising I can come over for a couple of months.
The events I sort are fund raisers for the Motorcycle Action Group UK (MAG)
and the smallest is for 800 people and the biggest will take 10,000 but it gets about 8.5K. All are bike only, No cars, No vans, No pedestrians, and No excuses. They are run by bikers, for bikers, in aid of biking.
So what I am looking for is a list or a calender of events that are overnight bike camping events with bands, beer, good times with like minded people who ride bikes.
If you would like to check out my events go to www.farmyardparty.com or YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNXsqrLtmO0
The YouTube is getting on a bit now, but the events is thriving.

Let me know and I hope I can meet some of you folk whilst I am down there.:2thumbsup

Hi Nighthawk thanks for your info mate, but am I in the right section of the Kiwi Bikers website? I was hoping for a bit more of a response, but I suppose its early days yet.

Maybe its the time difference, I dunno. Or is there a different website that is for rallyists?.

In the UK we have a lot of websites to suit all different types of bikers, race reps, BMW Gs riders, off road, rallyists etc, is it the same over there?

We have a couple of Magazines that list all the rallies in the UK, in a section dedicated to them called Cubs and Events, the biggest is called Back Street Heroes. Do you NZ bikers have anything of the style? anything I could subscribe to.

If you folks can give me any info I would be grateful.

Thanks.

kb is more of a online social / help each other out place. those sites have the main rallys NZ has to offer.

This meetings and events place is more for "im going for a ride this arvo who wants in" type rides, but the big events also get posted up.

Im not a fan of big events (never been to one actually) but I love just riding, mostly by myself.

Yep I am told it is, but as I am running round like a chicken with its head cut off I don't know, maybe I should go some time LOL.
Its 23 years old now and the biggest bike ONLY event in Europe, in other words no cars, vans etc, unlike say the Bulldog Bash that has a lot of festival types going not just bikers, but has the theft and shit that goes with it.

We have no theft or Violence and considering we get around £150,000 across our bars and we allow you to bring in your own drink isn't to bad.

Is there anything like this over there?

Fuck me Sarge, I can curse with the best of them mate and on all levels, I am from Yorkshire for fucks sake.

Did the way too fast thing a few years ago, spent most of my holidays at race meets in both the UK and main land Europe.

Then went to Harley's, like the bike, like to customize, don't like Back patch shit that goes with them.

So now i work in summer at events I only ride in a winter and that means a BMW plastic and paint no polished ally. to much salt for winter Harley riding.

Thanks RM, I can see scaning the site thats its good for meeting and chatting a real bonus if you live out in the sticks, I would imagin.

So can you tell me where I would find a list of the events that are on in your summer. Write ups, posters etc. Sorry to be a pain but its hard finding stuff out when I put stuff that would bring events up in a UK search, but dont in a NZ search.

I suppose you folks might not have big events:doh:
