approximately what size geny do I need to be looking for to run tyre warmers for a day? please reply in simply man's language (as I am of simple disposition of anything electronical)! what wattage outputy is needed? dont know what spec my warmers are, as a mate is borrowing them at the mo, so Im unable to check

also, inverter things. are they (Honda inverters) worth the $$$$'s of investment. Im definitely not a fan of the generator humm of the pits and these are the quietest.

2 smoker or 4?

dude calculate the MAXIMUM draw your warmers will pull off and then add 20% --thats for loss down the line.
Once you know that you'll know how big a genset you need.
I ran a 160 rear and a 120 front off of a lil $100 two stroke jobbie and it did ok but it was at max output .

If I remember right, your typical set draws about 900w... If you can afford a 2kw one that should sort you fine were you to want to run anything else off it, or two pairs of warmers if you're feel generous.

Hi.
Most warmers draw 550 W on the rear and 450 W on the front. The 1 KVa will be maxed out all the time and some warmers do not like the surging that this can create. Get at least a 1.5Kva or 2 is best.
Check out the petrol ones at Repco . They special them all the time and they work well.

The Honda inverter is the way to go, unfortunately when you pull up in the pits and start your one, there is always someone pitting beside you with a cheap chinese one that makes noise anyway so the benefits are undone!
However, they are small and compact, and very quiet if you need it for other chores.
we run a 2kv inverter and have had 5 warmers going full time (we had six but everytime the thermostat flicked on it would trip the fuse!)
You should be fine with a 1kv honda inverter, it will give you years of reliability. Ours in doing its 4 or 5th nationals, the only time it is used is racing and duckshooting (it powers the Maimai!) and we haven't had a problem yet!

good luck with your choice.
