Any other Audiophiles out there?

im lookning for suggestions on a new headphone amp?
cant be assed building one myself mostly cause im lazy

My headphones are AKG K240's and are 55ohm so need something beefy to drive them.
am willing to look at combines DAC and amp's or just an amp.

Out of interest do any other KB'ers get into serious audio at all? home/personal/car?

Judged car audio SQ comps for a wee while and own some alright gears arvus etc...

There are tons of headphone amps around these days, maybe something from Project or Musical Fidelity would be among the most uncontroversial purchases if you could find them.
Otherwise here's a few I found on TM - the Black Cube is a stunning amp but very pricey!

I've just sold my Sennheiser HD600's and this http://www.amazon.com/VAL-Vacuum-Tube-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B000L1PXIW
- Paid about $220 NZD for it a couple of years ago and it sounded really bloody good for the cash.

I would just use an op-amp. Direct couple its output to the headphone, with no DC blocking caps in the output stage. Build the offset circuit to manage the DC offset. Make a higher voltage power supply so you have enough output power.

Be prepared to be amazed.
