Ohhhhhhh.............. shit people ya shouda all been at Rupuna today for the sound of thunder, there was a class of Indians about 12 of them I'm still buzzing from it all.
Listening to 12 odd Indians firing up at once right beside me, had the bigest bloody Goose running over my grave..... the gut had that sinking feeling and a tear ran out of the corner of my eyes................ sorry folk but it was FUKING AWESOME *takes big breath*
These things compleatly had be suprised at the speed they were getting along at.... unbelievable.
One of them had no gearbox and was in gear all the time but there was a sorta clutch but the rider couldent keep it in for very long, so he kept on the move, but from a standstill to forking balls out fast it was amazing.... bloody amazing.

So heres a few pics........ ohh and the shiny red one with no gear box.... also had no brakes, dident hold it back for a sec.

Nothin but respect for the engineering, one day I might be lucky enough to have one of those engineering marvels in my garage. Sit down with a beer on Sunday and just enjoy the view.

Yeah mate.... but dont forget way back then engineering was nothing like it is today, materials were crap and tooling was done the hard way.

Man.... this is were motor bikes begain as we know it, we owe it all to the generation from back then otherwise I'd hate to think what we would be doing now :2thumbsup

mmmmmmm - I've always liked and fancied an Indian, and I don't mean a curry. I've also got a soft spot for Royal Enfield's.

Sorry I couldn't join you D, things to do and boxes to empty.

Yeah, those Indians can move out a HELL of a lot quicker than you think. What I like about the Indian guys,is they aren't too scared to play around with them...forks and wheels, different bits grafted on,lots of interesting mods - I've even seen an old Army 500 twin with a TURBO,and you have to look hard to pick it up too.

I think the "shiney red one" (number 293) is a board track racer. Banked ovals surfaced with wooden boards. Very fast, very dangerous. Jake DeRosier was one of the more famous racers,
