I loved my Zeus flip-front and love my Zeus Adventure Helmet (2100b).

Also love my Oxford open-face :innocent:

the 2100 (not the b model though). And its matt black. Very stylish helmet,

Are they comfy? My oxford is a comfortable large. and the zeus is a large also (apparently hard to come by). Will they fit about the same?

Thanks

..

I knew a guy had a Zeus helmet, it broke down 10 miles out of WopWop, he had to push it all the way home.

I bought a Zeus almost exactly a year ago. Mainly because they were economical (hesitate to use the word cheap) and it had a nice colour scheme. And I was only just getting into motorcycles and wasn't sure if I would like it or whether it was just a passing interest.
I wear it every day and it's lasted quite well. The only complaint if you can call it that is that I need to re-adjust the buckle every second day. Don't know if other brands suffer from that. Lining seems to hold up really well, the visor is hardly scratched and easily removed for thorough cleaning. It seems to fog up quite readily but then again, so do other helmets apparently. Don't know about wind noise. There is a fair amount of it but I don't know if its worse than other helmets.

I would like to know if expensive helmets like Arai and Bell are really that much better. Do they offer better protection? Or is it just the name you are paying for?

Have a Zeus Adventure helmet - does the job very, very nicely. Very comfortable. After having a normal full-face (with no peak), I find the peak on the Zeus is not affected by the occasional nor'wester and shields the face and eyes very effectively from the sun. Have not impact-tested it yet, nor have any desire to. Haven't had it long enough to comment on age and/or use related issues.

I have about 8 zeus 907 motorcross helmets and a couple of the nice duelsport helmets that Nordieboy speaks of. I also have about 5 other helmets of various brands - all under 2 years old.

they all work well- But Zues are my favourite cos they keep design clean and functional. They dont use fussy click- buckle chin straps that block up with mud. Their liners are easily removable to wash and durable too, and available seperately at a decent price. I have other brands that have lost domes in the wash!
Dont buy a fancy rubberized super matt finish one either cos the finish turns to goo if you get them too hot in your vehicle:(
EDIT: hey when you buy a new helmet just nip up the visor and peak screws cos 8 year old chinese kids just screw them in finger tight. - even Shoei.

what about the visor on the 2100 model? Is it stiff or clicky? Or does it have a nice movement to it?

Just checked on the Zues website and the ZS-2100 is what I've got as well.
Mine is the number 6 colour option. http://www.zeus-helmets.com/zeus/products/Full-Face/products_2100.html
The visor action is great. On hot days I ride with mine on it's first click open. That way you get good protection (haven't had any nasties hit my face) with good airflow. Even at open road speeds there is no danger of it slamming shut or flipping up fully open, it's got good positive clicking action. On rainy days I ride with it just a fraction open to try and stop misting of the visor.
The vent on the front is useful, the two vents on top are there for show only and don't do anything.

If it's a quality helmet you're after at a good price then you shpuld look at an FFM M9, around 200 slides or less and a damn good helmet for very little coin. I have one ( matt black ) only a few months old and I'll give it two thumbs up.

Gonna buy a race helmet soon as I'm heading back for the track, so mines for sale and veery cheap. :scooter:

If you get the 2100b adventure helmet you can get some little side plates to turn it into a 2100.

Great value at $195.

I close the visor 'till the material of my gloves thumb gets stuck. About half a click and it stays there quite well.

My race Helmet is a Zeus.....Bloody good helmet with good ventalation, well priced and best of all replacement visors are only $30. Mine also is matt black, it looks cool but shows finger marks badly. Good value for money in my eyes.

i found the zeus adventure helmet very small fitting compared to other brands so make sure you try it before you buy - i almost brought one mail order before i tried it on

as with any helmet, go and try them on before comitting to anything. I use closed fullface helmets and really liked the look of Arai back when I first bough a bike helmet (about 10 years ago) but they just aren't comfortable on me. I'm shoei through and through, had 3 and they all fit like a glove. (a face glove even!!!)

Nelson Motorcycle Centre.
Got them to get me one in to try on the understanding that it had to fit or I didn't want it.

All the bike shops can get them.

Purchased a Zeus for my first helmet. Cool art, didnt want to spend a fortune on the beginner gear. The visor held at high speeds, average air flow, not quiet, but not noisy, easy to remove pads to clean, visor fogs no matter what anti-fog cleaner used. All in all, an average beginner helmet.
UNTIL.
About a month in, the padding had softened so much around my head that it felt like whiplash when looking over my shoulder. I had purchased a size smaller, as recommended, but it softened so much that I felt like a bobble head. The shop wouldnt take it back, and I was stuck with tightening the chin strap so much it was near choking and padding it up about 3-4mm.
I have purchased a JVC helmet and am happy with the fit. Though beware the helmet with pushdown visor. Quite noisy with the wind catching the lever on top of the helmet.

Hope it helps.

Depends.

Which model?

I've been happy with my last 2 Zeus helmets. Flip front and Adv.

I got me a Zeus for my first helmet. Flip up front. The only problems that I have with it is that it is a bit on the heavy side, and its as loud as heck at 100ks. Other than that, it does its job. It just hasn't had a chance to do the life protection test yet.
