I do oil analysis and match industrial lubricants to applications. We consumed some 2 Mil litres of oil last year alone.
I was a marine engineer but not much water is liquid at 18000 feet in the Tein Shan mountains, certainly not enough for a boat, so had to find other work. Well something like that.

Hey I don't want to get thrown out...
I like this one:
Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Person asked a young accountant who was fresh out of PwC, "What starting salary were you thinking about?"
The Accountant said, "In the neighborhood of $150,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."
The interviewer said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5 weeks vacation, full medical and dental, Company Retirement Fund to 50% of salary, Executive Share Option Scheme, Profit Related Pay and a company car leased every 2 years - say, a 5 series BMW?"
The Accountant sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?"
The interviewer replied, "Yeah, but you started it."

I know what you mean.
It can be a sign the car has had a hit and they've used cavity wax to seal the area off from rusting, looks kinda like dark ear wax.
If you see that stuff,it pays to look a bit closer to see why it's there. It's strange they never throw some paint over it as it stands out like dogs balls on a light coloured car.
