Ripping myself off here as I posted this in response to a question in another thread, but was childishly pleased enough with it to decide to start a thread of its own (and to extend my sad little list).

So what the collective noun for bikes?

- a blur of sportbikes (or scream)
- a rumble of harleys
- a stink of twostrokes
- a blap of dirtbikes
- a tonne of goldwings
- a circus of MX bikes
- an embarrasment of ginnies
- a squadron of VFRs
- a swarm of hornets / vespas
- a flock of thunderbirds
- an extravagance of BMWs
- an unreliability of Moto Guzzis
- a parade of ducatis
- an economy of scooters
- a deathwish of litre bikes ridden by noobs


and the general collective noun for a mix is "a fantasy of bikes"

Shall I call the OED?

- a fark of RGs

and also ...

- an overkill of busas
- a flock of blackbirds
- a phalanx of Geese
- a convey of tourers
- an armoury of katanas
- a holiday of daytonas
- flash of naked bikes
- an orchestra of suzukis and hondas would also work - both made instruments

I was thinking of something else for ninja's, along the lines of stealth, but it led me to think that the ninja is the least stealthy bike there is and there's nothing very ninja-ry about them. Eh?

(I was going for an orgasm of aprilias but Hitch got there first ...)
