Just a reminder that the 3rd round of the Top Trail Rider Enduro series is on this weekend on Saturday 28 Feb starting at 10 am.

On sunday is the Hukerenui Trail Ride which uses most of the same tracks used for the enduro. We are using both sides of Tapuhi Rd which includes all of the pine block on the north side. Roughly 45 kms of tracks.

Both events sign posted just after passing the Hukerenui Tavern on RHS, about 25 mins drive north of Whangarei on SH1.

For more info phone Mike @ 09 4050996

Here's a directions map from google to Hukerenui from Auckland CBD

http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=Hukerenui,+Northland,+New+Zealand&geocode=&dirflg=&saddr=Auckland,+Auckland,+New+Zealand&f=d&sll=-35.519443,174.203167&sspn=0.020154,0.026736&ie=UTF8&z=8

It reckons 2 hours 49, which is about right, figure drop a bit with the toll road & gain a bit because the map is to the pub & not the track ( beers before the race are encouraged so the locals get a better placing ).

Should be a sweet ride, I'm heading out tomorrow to help mark out, there is rain forecast Saturday, but given Mike J & Mike B are doing the marking it should be all good.

Well I don't reckon you'll get lost on the loop we arrowed :), 6 hours 700 arrows.

It's looking a sweet track, I think you'll like it alot, if it does rain Friday night some of the downhills will be a bit exciting & a few creek crossing had that look that if it rained they might turn into a river, I haven't seen the other side, but the one I was on I reckon will hold up ok. Oddly enough the wettest part was close to the pits.

Oh Damon & Mitchell outdid themselves on the special test, it's nearly all taped :).

Was great to see you brendan, glad the boys all had a ball, was damn cool that so many hung around for the ride, it was absolutely a classic.

For all those reading what he's not mentioning is he made it up "impossible" hill, damn fine effort it was to & there were not many others who made it up, personally I had to hand my bike over to one of the guns.

Your too modest Nigel- the carpark trick you pulled was quite special- tell Chop all about it!

banged out 4 laps today, 2 flat tyres, (first and last lap) twisted the front end resonably, drowned it over the seat. and yeah had a blast was fkn mean beutiful hill climbs with big deep ruts and water running down the ruts, awsome we need more rides like that.

Damn, I thought no one else saw that but Damon & my victim, that wasn't you Bill was it ?.

( Basically I was talking & over balanced, went to put my other foot down, totally unsure what happened next, end result was a very ungraceful fall onto the guy parked in my blind spot, knocking him over as well, basically ranks right up there with my loopout whilst starting trick for comedy effect. ).
