I have a Z1000 and have read that people have had good results reducing the handlebar vibrations by filling them with lead shot. It only takes about 3 pounds so I'm not worried about the extra weight but I can only find it in 10kg lots at sports places for $80. #8 or #9 (small shot) would be ideal. Cheers, Phil

I've heard nitroglycerine works much better.

I tried the lead in the bars of my old 750 twin Kawa. Other than weighing a lot it made no difference.
However...
I located some heavy bar-end weights - worked wonders. You need heavy steel/stainless ones, not the lightweight alloy ones around.
Also alloy bars suck out some of the vibes.

Thanks for the replies......
It already has bar end weights fitted but they are not heavy enough, I could look at making some heavier ones I guess.
As for filling the bars with any old scrap lead, it needs to be packed in reasonably tight to be of any use which is why I was looking for lead shot and not just scraps as I am too lazy to mold it to fit.
The bar snake thing looked interesting but couldn't find them over here.
Lead shot still looks like an easy solution and if it doesn't work it is able to be removed. I might just go to a gun shop tomorrow and buy some.

Was thinking about trying that product.
I don't find the vibes to bad but less can't be bad on longer rides on tar seal.
You should buy one and report back if they are any good.?
I read somewhere that the pro taper bars damp out some vibes to and are better on dirt for absorbing bumps, who knows, maybe both would be the go but that would mean new bar clamps also.
The bar snake might be the easy option, might see if they will ship direct oversea's.
