Punch and I were thinking of entering this in the mixed section. Would be a good way enter our first competitive enduro. The aim is to finish :)

This is a good one to try for your first race as its not to serious and due to alternating laps means you get a good rest in between.
You can ironman it though if you have no friends.

Me and my son might do it for a bit of fun!!
You say you get a lap rest after every swap aye! This is important at my age LOL!! Hate his prices but there's no other series is there?
How long are the loops 35k or so??? NA can't be thats to long for enough swaps. Anyone know?

Barty5 is right on the button. 1st weekend of May, June and July for Power Adventures.
Waitemata also have one Oct/Nov.
Various places over Woodhill fromup north to some of the southern blocks. These are definitely the ones to start your race career on. Heaps of fun but still bloody competitive.
No need to go to the gym though, just practice riding for 1/2- 1 hour at a time.
Novices and ladies do approx 40-45 minute loops with the faster guys doing 25 minute loops.
No hard stuff, but a fair amount of single forest track, so the more you ride the tight stuff the better off you'll be (as you should anyway).

point to note if you do as a two man its 3hrs if you do it an ironman its 1 1/2 maybe 2 hrs cant remember while since i read it but it is a shorter time. Good thing is if yah bike craps out you can beg borrow steal what ever to keep going as long as you get back to pits.

Sounds like fun, does this getting fit stuff involve giving up drinking and trying to stay on the bike for more than 15 minutes?
If the Ironman (delusions of grandeur here!) is only a couple of hours I'd be keen on that.
I'll google "getting fit for old bastards" first.......

Dont they have trail rides organised on the very same track on a regular basis?
That could well be an oppurtunity to get some practise in.
Could some one confirm this.
